I now know where my children get their awful behaviour

ME!!!!

This morning was just awful for me!! I truly hate PMS with a passion!!! I apologized to my children far too much today! And all because I had bad behaviour!! If it had been a Saturday, I'd have stayed in bed all day just to avoid myself! In fact, if  I'd met me for the first time today, I wouldn't wanna be friends with me! It was THAT bad!! Because I knew I was having a bad day, the kids could do no wrong...I really tried to let them just be and if they didn't want to be around me, that was fine. They did tho! They really do love me!! About 11:30 I laid on the couch with DJ, and we snuggled, and I apologized AGAIN, and he said "that's ok Mum, I love you" and I was almost in tears...stupid hormones! God help me when Samantha's hormones find her!!!

We watched Umizoomi together...one of the morning shows I've never seen...well I'll be darned, they were talking about shapes and included an octagon...and DJ knew it has 8 sides...pretty darn impressive! I'll have to ask him the next time he sees a stop sign what shape it is and see if he really picked up on it.

During lunch, we're still on a "cheese sandwich" bagel kick here...I don't mind a bit (and they eat it pretty quickly!!) there was a knock on the door...K was outside wanting to play, I've never seen DJ finish his green beans so quickly!! I told him we were going shopping and that I'd call over to let them know. Lara said they were going to be home, so no worries on him staying behind. SamSam and I took off about 2 and headed for costco. Not even half way there and she was sound asleep in her chair....so when I got to costco, I let her be for about 40 mins so she wouldn't wake up grumpy, but at the same time she'd go to sleep fine for me tonite.

My plan worked beautifully and we were in and out of costco in 20 minutes! AND I spent less than 100.00....unheard of!!!!! Lickety split! As I was heading out of the driveway of costco, I called Howie to see where he was on his commute home. He'd just passed costco...and since I knew the way he went home, I went my usual way and caught up to him at the light by Albertsons...if only it was green for me!! I'd have been him home!! As it was, he was just unloading when we pulled in! He got Sam out and then helped with the groceries.

Sam wanted to go next door with the boys, so I made her pee first and then head out...she got distracted by the swing and was happy swinging herself instead. Sure reminds me of me...I love a good swing! Now, it makes me nauseous! Go figure! The boys must have seen her and then knew we were home, and all 4 of them came in to play downstairs. And to tidy up since they haven't done that all week! DJ asked if K could spend the nite and we agreed....so both boys went home for their supper while we ate ours. K must have shovelled his food in cuz he was back over here before any of us were done!

After dinner I bathed the kids...and while DJ was in the tub, we heard the front door close....come to find out, K went home as his tummy hurt and he wanted his mama...good thing we ARE so close! DJ was upset by this turn of events, but it gave me lots of opportunity to explain that when he leaves K's house after being invited over, it probably upset K too. He did calm down and they both bed to bed quickly!

AI was beautifully shocking!!!!  I believe I called Pia as an alternate for the bottom 3!! And the judges reactions were telling...they'd already used their save and couldn't help her!! They do realize that there can only be ONE winner right? And this elimination thing is going to happen every week....just sayin. Then there was nothing else on tv....Grey's and PP were both re-runs! boo! The Mentalist was new and good....I liked the killer's haircut....but my face is not small enough to pull off a pixie cut! lol Then I watched The Nanny while knitting away on the baby blanket...on the 3rd skein now so it's coming along.

Til next time...God bless!

Its WACKY WEATHER DAY!!!!!!!

Did you know this day even exists!!?!?! If not, April 6th is now declared Wacky Weather Day!!! When DJ got up at 7, he minded himself and let Sam sleep too...she didn't get up til just about 8:30...that's when it dawned on me...and I asked DJ to see if there was snow on the ground...there wasn't. Whew! And the sun was actually shining!! Then it rained. And rained and snowed at the same time. Then sun. Then hail. And MORE hail. Then sun. Then rain. And finally snow, which had stuck around unfortunately! WACKY!!

We ate breakfast and then got ready to head out grocery shopping. I only wanted to do Freddy's today, and that's all we had time for really. So off we went! The kids went into Play Land, and I went on my merry way shopping. I think I spent the bulk of my time in the stupid cereal aisle!! Aside from the really expensive (but damn good) cereal over in the health section, I needed to find something that didn't taste like cardboard, and doesn't have sugar in it. Took me forever to find the Shredded Wheat too that my mom suggested. I thought they put all the "good for you" cereals on the top shelf, but apparently they like to mix it up!! I did finally find it, and amazingly, found a "Freddy" brand that was half the price! YAY me!!!

After Freddy's we got gas and headed for home. Got parked just as my g/f Kody was pulling into the driveway with her girls Emma and Isobel. We had a play date!! I got the groceries in the house, and unloaded while we chatted. Then made the kids lunch, got them started and made my own lunch. She pulled out her teeny tiny knitting needles and got to work on making the second sock for Isobel. She also brought her Hot Fix applicator...for affixing rhinestones to just about anything. You see, I've wanted an AVON shirt for a while now, but wasn't willing to shell out 27.00 for ONE shirt that had Avon spelled out in rhinestones...and when I told Kody about it, she told me about her little gadget and I was sold!!! I bought a BIG bag of stones at Ben's one time and waited patiently for all 4 kids to be healthy, and for both of us to have time to meet up! Today was the day!!

So once I got done eating, I set up my shirts and started working on it. Set up the lettering on the shirt first, and then hot fixed them to the shirt. Well the first shirt was definitely a learning experience!!! With cotton, it doesn't need to be held for so long. I'd had the shirt folded up in half underneath where I was working, and when done, I'd pretty much glued the whole shirt together. AY yi yi!! Got it separated and pray that the reside will wash out from the bottom of the shirt, front AND back!! So, like I said, learning experience! The second shirt, I laid flat and put a piece of cardboard between the layers! Now I was thinking!!! The first one, I did AVON across the top of the chest and then put some on the collar of the shirt (it's black) and the second one (pink) I put I heart (but the actual symbol) AVON and it looks super cute!!

I wasn't half done the second shirt when Kody and the girls headed home....and I was on the O when Howie got home. Sam was LOVING the heart I did on the shirt and thought it was for her lol. Once I got the shirt done, we headed into town for dinner. I'd gotten a restaurant.com gift cert for a local BBQ place that we've enjoyed in the past. 25.00 cert for 2.00!!! Can't beat that!! The only stipulation is that you have to spend 35.00 before tax! EASY!!!!! As it turns out, it wasn't that easy, but we managed...and enjoyed a lovely meal for 4 people for 14.00!! Not too shabby!! No cooking for Howie, and no dishes for me!! The kids gobbled it up too! DJ discovered he LOVES coleslaw!! On the way home he was plotting about when to eat the leftovers tomorrow lol.

We got home and I decided not to bathe the kids, they can wait til tomorrow...the hot fix was calling my name!!!! So I got my jeans out and added some bling to the pockets (I'm fairly certain my dad is rolling his eyes at this!) and as I was working on my first pair, Sam asked for some "polka dots" on her jeans...she was wearing them...and I said sure, so she stripped down right then and there and gave them to me to work on. How could I not?? Plus, her little pockets didn't take long!!! She LOVED it and hugged her jeans when I was done. DJ wanted me to do his too, but I said no. :(

Once the kids were in bed we watched AI...gotta say, they ALL brought their "A" game tonite!!! While I'm not a fan of Rock, they made some really good choices!!! My picks for bottom 3, Jacob, Casey, and Paul...with Pia as an alternate. It was tough!! Stefano did great in the middle, Scotty did fabulous! Lauren was amazing!! Haley is winning me over, but I'm afraid she'll damage her vocal chords. James was PHENOMENAL!!!!!! Really! It'll be interesting!!

Then I watched Survivor....poor Matt!!!! Seriously, did they have to be so mean!?!?!? And why on earth didn't he listen to Mike's proposal and vote Grant...would have been a HUGE blindside!! All I can do is shake my head! He did great in the duels, but they were mostly women...and now its gonna be the men getting voted off and they'll have had more food.

Off the Map was gross tonite!!! The burnt hands were unwatchable for me!! lol I have a weak stomach! in fact, a g/f of mine in Ireland posted about her daughter losing the tip of her left ring finger today and my stomach churned! Thankfully, like she said, she's so young, she'll never know the difference. *shudder*  Anyways, it was a good show!! I did some knitting and took my time so I can avoid those darned dropped stitches!

Til next time...God bless!

There's a family legend

That has to do with snow in our family. My grandpa (mom's dad) has/had a birthday on April 10th...and my Grandma always had some rule about Spring and snow on his birthday....kinda like her own personal Groundhog day...lemme see if I can get it right...if it snows ON his birthday its not the last, but if it doesn't snow, Spring is here...something like that. I'll have to get  my mom to clarify.

Why am I talkin about snow? Cuz we woke up to snow this morning!!!!! I kid you not! How tragic!! I was just complaining about the rains, and how even the ducks would be complaining, and we get snow!?!?!? I did not order this!! I want that big bright orb in the sky darnit!!! You know, the one that gives off heat!!! Makes everything green...not white!!! ugh!

Breakfast was super late today thanks to the snow and all the excitement it created among my two chitlins...and to think, they just watched Santa Clause 2 yesterday, wonder if that had anything to do with it...lol. So finally at 10 I was very hungry and made us breakfast, cereal for SamSam and toast for me and Mr DJ. Sam was last one done too. DJ had the added incentive of seeing the boys next door outside in their snow pants and wanted to join them. I said sure, and Miss Samantha decided to eat a bit faster so she could join them. Got DJ all dressed and out the door, and Sam was in the living room naked ready to get dressed. Made her potty first and then got her dressed...head to toe in warmth....she IS my tropical flower y'know. She goes out to find the boys, I close the door behind her and head up the stairs...I get to the kitchen and the front door opens and all 4 of them are coming in the house undressing while they do so. WHAT!?!?!! Sam didn't even make it off the landing of the front porch!!! All that work for nothing!! Meanwhile, DJ was SOAKED!!!!! You see, under the snow is the mud puddles from yesterday....greeeeat!

So, the 4 of them came in to play while I kept on with Avon...today was order day and I needed to get it done! Plus its pizza run day, so I called and only one place needed pick up. So at 12 I headed out...the kids went next door to play, which meant I was solo! Crank that radio!!! I was back home shortly after 1 and called to let my neighbour know...she'd said she was leaving at 1:30, but that didn't happen as she forgot about piano lessons...so the kids stayed there til they got hungry...which was just before 2. I was just fixing myself a lunch, so it was good timing.

Next thing I know, its 4 pm and I haven't showered yet for my Avon meeting tonite...so I put on T.U.F.F Puppy for the kids and headed to the shower. Howie came home just as I was doing kitty litter, so that was good timing, he was able to lift it up and fill the box for me...and took out the stinky garbage while I showered. I tried on my jeans after...ones a size down from what I wore a month ago...and they fit!!! If not even a bit loose in the butt and legs....YES!!!!!!!!!! I then tried on the other pairs in my closet...and it'll be another month for one pair and maybe two months for the second pair...at least by summer!! SWEET!!!! The jeans I've been wearing lately, I can put them on and take them off without unzipping them!

I left about quarter after 5 and headed to pick up a rep in Monroe to go with me to the meeting, and then as I pull in to the drive thru at the bank, I see my neighbour, and I'd asked her daughter to go with us to the meeting, so she got out of the van and hopped into the car and came along. Hope she enjoyed herself even if I did make her stand up in front of the whole group :) Public Speaking is no one's favourite thing, but ya gotta do it!! She is 13, so she needed some prodding.

After the meeting we headed to Micheal's to get more of the yarn I need for the sweater...and I almost fainted when she told me that they had discontinued that shade. I kid you not! About fell over! She did call to the store in Lynnwood and they have 8 skeins, but may not hold it til Saturday when I can get there. *sigh* I really don't want to start ALL OVER again!!! Lord have mercy!

I dropped everyone off and got home about 20 after 9....Howie was up, but heading to bed. So I put DWTS on to see who got booted off...no surprise there!!! Its not really about dancing, it's a popularity contest! Then I hit pause on The Good Wife and made up the grocery list for this week...and then watched it with no commercials. And then Parenthood. Both up to snuff tonite too!! Got the laundry folded and twiddled my thumbs...was too mad at Bernat to pick up my needles and knit! lol

Til next time...God bless!

I'm beginning to think

Even the ducks are thinking "enough rain already!!!"

Yet another non-stop day of rains!!! NON STOP!!!!! So glad I don't work outside!!!! And extremely thankful our roof is holding up to the test!

This morning the kids decided they wanted egg mcmuffins for breakfast, and right as I'm making them, Sam decides she wants me to hold the egg on hers! And add chocolate...silly girl!!! And DJ ate his in 3 parts...top, bottom and egg...all I can do is shake my head...lol

After that they wanted to go next door, so I made them wait til 10:30, and told them if they couldn't go in, they could invite the boys over to play. Caleb came back with them and the 3 of them had a grand time!!  I got  busy with dishes and cleaning the kitchen up. They wanted a snack around 11, and so they split a small bag of chips we got as a sample...not sure any of them tasted them they were devoured so quickly!

At lunch C's mom called and asked for him to go home to eat...and that worked out fine for me as I was just getting started on our lunches. We ate and then headed to the shed to do the books. The plan was to get rid of ALL the books, but since there's no school this week, I'm to take them to Goodwill instead...works for me! I got ALL of them in the truck, but couldn't grab the extra that was asked of me in the trailer...tis okay, I'm pretty loaded with books.

On the way to the shed, on one of the roads, the "creek" is now a swamp! It's spread out so much it could almost be a pond...and it's flowing FAST!!! Quite the sight to see really! As we drove by Pegasus ranch, their side ditch is now a swamp too! Just full of water! The one bridge I have to cross, was good, but again the "creek" was spilling over the banks...not sure how much room there is til it crests the bridge itself, but man, that's a lot of water!

We got back home and the kids wanted to go next door again, but I knew they were doing family movie afternoon....so I said no, and got lots of flack from DJ about that. So, we came in, and I got apples and peanut butter as a snack and we watched a VeggieTales movie just the 3 of us til Howie got home from work. He was placated and enjoyed snuggling with me on the couch for a bit.

Once Howie got home they wrestled a bit of energy out which was nice! And then the 3 of them sat in his chair and watched Dragon Tales (good thing the dragons don't eat veggies!!!!) while I worked on some Avon stuff since the order is due tomorrow. Before I knew it, it was dinner prep time! Burgers were on the menu now that we have propane again...they sure were tasty too!

After dinner we tag teamed the bathing, I put SamSam in the tub and Howie put DJ in the shower and we got 'em both done at the same time!! The boys beat us today...I was just washing Sam's feet up when I heard "we're done" thru the wall. Drats! Sure is nice to have 'em done at the same time...less work for me! Then we put them in bed and got settled with some blueberry ice cream and watched DWTS.

Ralph is still my fave guy...and Kirstie is my fave girl even tho I missed her dance completely thanks to a blown fuse! GRR the timing!!!! Not sure why it set off, I've had the heater plugged in there for weeks, but tonite it just didn't like it!  Since I missed a few dancers, I was done when they were done...so I watched Army Wives. What a great show this is! Even tho they lost a soldier last week, they're showing the effects it has on so many people on so many levels...quite a tribute to any fallen soldier! After that was Castle...Nathan Fillion is just wonderful in his role as Castle...and I can't help but point out that he's Canadian!!!

I started a baby blanket last nite while watching the ACMs for a lady at church that I know is having a girl, and I'm being extra careful in my stitches so it looks good...and what do I do tonite? Drop a freakin stitch!! And not one I can just work it back up on the needle either...so all the work I did tonite had to come out just to catch my mistake...SO frustrating!!!!! Perfection sure has a price!!!

Til next time...God bless!

And the ACM goes to...

This morning Mr DJ came in to wake me up and just chatted with me for about 10 minutes before Daddy discovered where he went! lol I didn't mind, he was awful sweet and funny! And it was time for me to get up anyways and get ready for church. I quick hopped in the shower and then got ready. I'm quite proud to say the "dress" pants I wear to church, are LOOSE!!!!!! Finally!!!!! Felt good too!

After church we stopped by Freddy's to get Howie's dad a gift for his birthday...we had no real plan as to what to get him, so headed to the men's dept and looked around. Found a gorgeous Mariner's sweatshirt that's that wick away material...and a nice cut too! It was our first choice, but Howie wanted to keep looking....in the end, we went with it! The kids wanted hot dogs for lunch, so I got turkey ones since we had none in the house. We also got Howie's fishing license while he was there as he's the one who needs to do it. Done deal!

Then we headed home with a stop at the shed to see what was brought in yesterday....got some mashed sweet potatoes with goat cheese, and some salads and a couple sandwiches. I also scored these brownie desserts...which meant I didn't have to bake a cake! SWEET!! Once home we got started on lunch right away. Then Howie went to get the propane tank filled, and the kids went outside since it wasn't raining (yet) and I got busy cleaning up the house!

For a change, DJ came in and helped me while Sam stayed out with the neighbours and played. He wanted to vacuum, so he picked up everything off the floors to do so. He was actually a big help! Howie got home and took over the vacuuming part while I kept on with tidying up. He wasn't even half way done and there was a knock at the door from my FiL...man, was he early!! lol Sam was in the house by then and had her party dress back on, she'd put pants on to play outside, but wanted to be pretty for the party. :) She thoroughly loved up on dad too, it was quite sweet! We had to interpret what she was saying...and I forgot to ask if he had his hearing aids in. lol. Ellen wasn't with him as she's been across the state with her son who's having heart issues. We did miss her tho!

Jake  came for supper too...he had to work til 4:30, but got here just as we were serving dinner. Love when he's in a good mood and today was no different! Dinner was fabulous! Those sweet potatoes were amazing!!!! For whatever reason, Howie snubbed his nose at me when I grabbed them from the shed...he didn't think I'd be warming them up HA! Silly boy!

After dessert, DJ wanted Jake to take him on a bike ride, but settled for xbox instead. So the two of them duked it out in boxing and track stuff. At 7 he and dad left to go home, Jake to mow a lawn and dad to let Ellen's dog out....so my two kept on playing with the xbox while Howie went down to play with playstation. This is the problem with eating dinner early....there's LOTS of time afterwards til bed time...but it finally came! And they both went to sleep without a hitch! I love my little sleepers!

Howie was feeling left out of the brownies dessert and wanted me to make some blueberry ice cream, so I did...YUM!!!! Just love that stuff!! Then I finally got to sit and watch the ACMs...country music awards...the BIG ones! AND to make it even sweeter...Blake Shelton was co-hosting with Reba! How awesome was that!?!?!  You could tell they had him on a short leash tho...his jokes were tame!!! And he didn't have a beer bottle in one hand!!

The new songs that were debuted were fabulous!!!!! I'd already gotten to listen to Blake's new song Honeybee...LOVE it!! And Darius Rucker did a very special song that had me in tears with pride!!! Oh, and have you heard Martina's new song Teenage Daughters....so on the money!!! Taylor Swift's new song is just great too!!! Mean I think it's called...not sure on the exact title tho. All in all a fabulous nite for country music's finest!!!! I sure do wish I was in Vegas this weekend...what a blast that would have been!!! I do have one friend who was there, and she texted me during the awards show...ahhhh, one day! After they were over I watched Desperate Housewives....Lynnette just kills me!!! I love her!! She's just great!!

Til next time...God bless!

A little bit of rain

Then some teasing sun.

More rain.

More teasing rain.

Then HAIL!!!! The size of peas!!

Then end the day with rain.

BLECH!!!

Thankfully we had NO plans for the day!! Nothing. Zip. Nada!!! Which meant I got to sleep in! I woke the first time just before 9, and thought I'd just doze til 9, and woke up at almost 10:30!! Love that! The kids were just finishing their late breakfast when I got up and came out to make mine and Howie's omelet. Once we were done the kids started askin to go next door...I made them wait til 11:30 and then off they went!

They then did a round robin of both houses....I'd have one kid (Sam), then 4, then none, then 4, then 2, then 1, then none, and then DJ and finally Sam. I'm thinking of getting a revolving door for the front door!! AND they were even playing out in the hail when it was pouring down!!!! Sam was inside with me at that point watching it all. And boy was she cranky!!!! One of those "should have given her a nap, but now that its 4pm she's not getting one" moments!  She snapped out of it and went next door for the last lap.

Howie got lights put up in the garage, got the playstation games all organized downstairs, and even played some, got the two new shelves up in the bathrooms and almost cooked dinner on the bbq til it ran out of propane. urgh! I did some puttering too...organized DJ and Sam's closets, worked on their baby books, put clothes away, put dishes away, more freakin laundry, and loaded the dishwasher again

Not a very exciting day, but that was the plan!

I recently read this funny post on another blog I follow and thought I'd share it with ya, but I'll post it separately.

After dinner I bathed the kids and got them in bed. They both went down extremely easy, which I knew they would. As I soon as I sat down with Howie, he said for me to watch what I wanted to...he was going downstairs to play more PS2 games. So I put xbox on and flipped to netflix and found a chick flick. Benjamin Button was my pick, Again I say, I wish Netflix had closed captioning. I complained on twitter, so we'll see what comes of it! I did get a response from someone I don't know that lists all the current methods that netflix does support close captioning and wouldn't ya know it, xbox isn't one of them! ARGH!

I have to say, it was a strange movie to watch!!! And yet quite the story!!! The end had me in tears it was just so beautiful!! If I'd had CC then I'd know more about the movie as there was much whispering...but I got the gist. And the old lady that did a lot of talking, missed everything she said! *shrugs* What can I say?

Til next time...God bless!
