This morning Miss Samantha came into my room and crawled into bed with me and said "I not feeling well" and just snuggled. She wasn't fevered one bit...but she kept repeating herself so I'd know. After a few minutes she said she needed to puke...so we went to the bathroom where she dry heaved. Lovely! I then cancelled plans I had with my unit leader and one of my reps to go out door to door this morning.
DJ on the other hand....was in fine form! Almost literally bouncing off the walls! Aside from a mild run to his nose occasionally, you'd never know he wasn't up to par. As he and I were eating breakfast, Sam said she needed to puke again...so off we went...another dry heave session later, she was back in Daddy's chair. She did need to pee, so that's good...and decided since she was naked I could scratch her back for her. Ha!
I went back to my soggy cereal, and DJ finished his pretty quick and Sam started asking for something to drink. So I gave her some very watered apple juice and she did good. Didn't guzzle it or puke it back up. So an hour later when she asked for cereal, I gave her a bowl of dry cereal and she took her time eating it. Again, she's not fevered, just mellow.
DJ ate his lunch (his leftover dinner from last nite, you didn't think I'd forget did you?? He wished I did!) and then asked to go next door...so off he went. I then made my own lunch and Sam joined me at the table with the last of her cereal. Then we snuggled in my chair and on the couch. We both fell asleep about 3 and she slept for a good hour and a half. I got a half hour before my arm was totally numb. So I got up and started on dinner. Howie was doing a drive by for dinner and then heading to Lynnwood for a football meeting about Jake's team.
Dinner was a Minestrone soup mix I'd been given a couple years ago as a gift...one of those gifts in a jar...and today I saw it and thought it was perfect for a drive by dinner with an open sandwich. DJ wanted pizza, and I'd steamed some carrots for them...so they each got some. Sam ate the olives off her pizza and then kept saying she was gonna puke...after 2 times to the bathroom (and one of those was just so I could scratch her bum ~WTF~) I gave her a bowl to use if she needed it as I wanted to eat my dinner finally. Well wouldn't you know it, the 3rd time she said it, she did just that! Luckily I could see her signs and grabbed the bowl to catch it. And thankfully she hadn't eaten much....still smells vile tho! Got her cleaned up and in a new shirt and told her no more food. Oh she cried and cried!!!! I did give her more water/juice to keep the fluids going. Don't need her getting dehydrated on top of it all!
After dinner I gave them both a bath and put them both to bed!!!! No more puking episodes....and she did a good pee before bed...so here's hoping I have two healthy children tomorrow as its an Avon day!
Once they were in bed I called my g/f Earika back and we chatted for almost an hour...and then Howie came home so we chatted for a bit. He'd stopped off to visit a friend on the way home and had a good visit. He didn't stay up and watch BBT with me, so I saved it for another day. After he went to bed I pulled out my knitting. I started a sweater for me....but I'm doing it according to the pattern and if the size isn't right, that's okay...I'm sure I'll find someone to give it to! I always do!!
Tonite was a slow nite tv-wise...no Grey's or Private Practice...so I settled for The Mentalist and Fairly Legal. Both good shows!!! Really liking Fairly Legal with every episode...and once again, its on USA network! They make winners!

Still sick
This morning I woke up still sick...yes, I had hopes that I'd be miraculously healed...but at least I wasn't worse than yesterday! And I didn't have to sleep with tissue up my nose!! My voice isn't quite as manly, but sure is nasal...lovely.
And energy...I had NONE!!!! Every time I sneezed (which was less today than yesterday) or blew my nose (which is SO raw right now) I'd get dizzy! The kids were good for the most part and understanding of my sickness.
So we had a mellow day...for the most part. The excitement of the day was when UPS came with a package for us. I'd entered to have a pizza party with DiGiorno pizza and won...so they sent all this stuff for the house party. I was concerned they'd be sending frozen pizza in the mail, but turns out they've thought this thru and I got coupons for freebies!!! Smart! The theme for the house party is basketball...and in the package was an over the door basketball hoop and a small basketball....the kids were all over that! And the timer shaped like a basketball, DJ wouldn't leave it alone!!!!!!! HATE that ticking noise! It follows you!
Dinner was early since it was an Awana nite....but DJ did a song and dance at dinner and only ate half his chicken...and since we were already late, and I was tired of the fighting with him, we just left. The whole way to church we talked about his horrible attitude. He'd ask for gum and I said no...then I'd ask him if he wanted to know why, and he said no. This went on about tic tacs and watching the movie in the truck. But he didn't want to know why I was saying no.
On the way home, I asked him if he was hungry and he said no....and I reminded him that if he was, he'd be eating his dinner. Normally after Awana he's starving...but tonite, he meant it when he said no. I then told him it would be his lunch tomorrow and when he balked at me I suggest it be his breakfast if he wanted to give me attitude. He agreed to lunch.
Then as we're heading home this actual conversation happened:
DJ: Mum, guess what?
Me: what?
DJ: I love you
Me: I love you too!
Pause
Me: You can be such a sweet kid sometimes
Pause
DJ: But not every time
Me: Yeah, why is that?
DJ: I just really didn't want to eat my dinner! Can I have some gum
Me: no. Do you know why?
DJ: yeah, cuz of my attitude
I could only laugh!
Then we're a street away and I see an animal in the road and thought it was a bunny, but as we got closer it was a cat....and I'm dialoguing as we go, and DJ pipes up and says "its not a bunny...he doesn't come til next month!!" Alrighty then!!
We got home and sure enough he didn't want to eat and went straight to bed...after showing Howie his new magnifying glass he earned in class. What a kid!!
Meanwhile...Miss Samantha is picking up the English language quite well...yesterday as I was hustling them out the door, she didn't like me hurrying her and actually said to me "You've got a bad attitude Mummy" What can I say back to that?? lol
Once DJ was in bed, Howie and I watched the second half of AI...he forgot it was on, and he went to bed half way thru that. I finished watching it and when I saw the recap, wished we'd recorded the whole thing!! Lauren rocked it! Scotty needs to stop doing that head sway thing. I see a few that will not make it far in this! The dude who sings like Rod Stewart....yeah, he's gone! After that I watched Survivor...YAY Russell is GONZO!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy not to put up with his pretentious ways!!!! They were right to vote him out early! The fact that he cried when he realized he lost, pathetic!!! Then in his parting speech he declared he'll never be back....yeah, we'll see about that! Off the Map was once again good!!!! Had me riveted watching it! Great show!

P.S...116 years ago today, my Nanny (dad's dad) was born....she lived to almost 101...but every March 9th, I think of her!!! :)

I get knocked down
But I get up again....just slowly this time as this cold is sapping all my energy!!!
Whew!!
This morning I woke up with a voice deeper than Howie's!! NOT good!!! DJ immediately asked me if I had a fever...and checked my forehead...he even wanted to take my "tenaprature" yeah, he's cute! Even told his sister to be careful cuz Mummy is sick! Awwww wish that would have allowed me to stay in bed all day!
But Moms don't get the day off when they're sick!!!! And today was an Avon order day...so I had to get cracking!! Thankfully I was on top of things and already had my orders written out for previous placed orders...just needed to keep on top of the ones coming in.
Lunch was early as we had a pizza run to do...and DJ actually asked for macaroni...good thing it was a crappy brand, that might have put me over the edge lol. Instead I had a lovely ham, cheese and black olive omelet!!! Quite delicious! Knowing that I'd be having salad for dinner at the restaurant for my Avon meeting, I decided to eat hearty for lunch.
We were gone soon after lunch...this new computer is off by 10 mins, and I'm not quite used to it (and kinda like it) so we weren't as late as I was led to believe when I got out to the truck and noticed the time. lol So we headed into town, picked up a bunch of pizzas and then headed to the school we drop books off to. I had help in the beginning from a 12 year old boy, but he quickly became engrossed in the books he was carrying in. It was cute! Then they swarmed the table where the books were and it was almost impossible to bring the boxes thru. One lady said "we love you" to which I replied "love me enough to help?" and she did!! I had 16 boxes of books and cd's...and to carry them in one at a time is tedious!! Many hands make light work!
Once done, we headed back to the shed and dropped off the pizzas we didn't want...and then headed home. Somewhere along the way, we lost Sam...I noticed she was dozing when we got to the shed. So when we got home, I let her sleep another half hour. But not longer than that...yesterday's nap in the car was a wet one!!! She was soaked when she woke up! Didn't want that again, so I woke her up. She sure was snuggly when I got her in the house, so we laid on the couch...and DJ was feeling left out, so he laid with us...kinda crowded!! I shook them both off and they sat nicely! Even played nicely!
Just after 4 I called to see where Howie was on his route home as I needed to shower before my meeting....he was further than normal as he left late...even 5 mins can ruin his commute home! So I put on a "real" movie (according to DJ ) in Netflix and went to shower. He was home when I got done, whew!
I left after 5 and headed to pick up one of my reps to go with me. On the way I had a sneezing fit, so as I'm pulling into her driveway I called her to ask for some kleenex!! UGH I hate being sick!!!! The meeting was good...brought the box of kleenex in with me, and enjoyed my salad at the back of the room! It was a good meeting....about putting yourself out there and getting more customers. I did meet my goal of 2 new customers...so that's good!
On the way home we stopped at Freddy's for more salad...the shed usually supplies a lot of salads for us, but this week was low...and I knew I only had enough for Howie's lunch for tomorrow. Jaime was shocked when I handed the cashier an Avon book...I guess she hasn't gotten to that point yet! lol She will tho! Then I dropped her off at home and came home myself.
Howie was watching Spartacus on netflix and I got busy making his lunch so I could sit and relax a bit. Once he went to bed I flipped it to Glee...love Gwyneth Paltrow...I don't care what anyone says! She's got a good voice and her character is spunky!! Didn't really care for the "theme" tonite, but it is what it is. Raising Hope was hilarious!! And Traffic Light is growing on me! White Collar totally rocked tho!! Their season finale was awesome!!!!!! Now I have to wait til summer for more!! :(
As for me and my raw nose, we're headed to bed!!!!! Tissues at the ready!!

You think I would have learned
My lesson by now!! I mean really!! How blond am I???
This morning the kids were up super early!!! Not sure why, but man was it early!!! In any case, by 9 am, I was so ready for a nap!!! lol Plus it really sux not having a computer in the house during the day! Howie obviously took his laptop to work, but that left me with just my phone. At least I had that!!
After lunch we took our time getting ready to head out to the shed...today was book run day, and I needed to sort thru everything and put the new books up on the shelves...and get rid of all the cd's in the trailer as we got a bunch of new movies in (VHS or I'd be all over that!) In the mean time the kids watched Despicable Me on the dvd player in the truck, Apparently, and hour and a half is too long for the truck to be using up the battery.
Yep, you guessed it...dead battery!! Of course, it didn't help that I had the trunk door open for the most part which had all the interior lights on. You think I'd know not to do this!!!! *shakes head* but I did it anyways! So by the time I'm ready to head out, I can't go! Howie was just getting ready to leave work, so it would be well over an hour before he got to me...so I brainstormed. Then the light bulb went off! The driveway I was parked in belongs to a family that's with the gleaners...so I called her and she was a minute away from me and had cables!! Got it juiced up and I was running again!
Then we headed into town to do bank deposits...Sam was sleeping, but when we got to the first bank I rolled her window down and the fresh air woke her up. She didn't want her lollipop tho...so I kept it up front despite DJ's best efforts to beg me for it. Then we headed to Sultan to drop off a prize for my latest Avon drawing at the salon I deal with. The lady who won it is part owner of a pizza place in Sultan, Sahara Pizza, and she was more than happy to put out books for me!! YAY!!!!!! And she was happy to now have an Avon lady!! Hopefully I'll hear from her soon!
I'd called this afternoon about the computer and was told it would only take an hour which would have been perfect timing for me if I hadn't been stranded for 20 minutes. So Howie picked it up on the way home...the new and the old! Seems the old one had bad software, so they fixed it and the cd drive works again! As soon as he got in and got changed he got working on getting it up and running.
Man, is it ever sleek too!!! All black and looks SO modern! I love how extremely fast it is and as I'm typing, the words are popping up on the screen immediately rather than a sentence at a time! That got old fast! LOVE the new computer!!!!! Just gotta learn Windows 7 now!
After dinner I bathed the kids and we put them to bed. Finally I got to sit for a bit!!! Howie went to bed before waiting for the blueberry ice cream to thaw a bit...that freezer downstairs is awesome!!! A little too awesome sometimes! I watched the "Women Tell All" on the Bachelor tonite...Other than ganging up on Michelle, it was good! I love Brad's face when he talks about his "significant other"...tells me he did good! Which hopefully means, he picked Emily...but my track record for picking these things is way off...so that means he'll have picked Chantal...lol Wasn't much else on, so I watched an episode of The Mentalist and called it good!

Fever strikes again!
This morning DJ woke up next to me at 7:15...but at the time I didn't think anything of the heat he was projecting as he'd been laying next to me. 10 minutes later he came back into the bedroom and said he threw up all over himself and daddy's chair. Howie, bless his heart, got up to take care of the cleaning and DJ. It took a bit for me to doze back to sleep...and then Sam came in for a 30 second snuggle and she was off again.
About 9:30 Howie came in to wake me, but he'd decided we weren't taking DJ to church, but I needed to get up anyways lol. Sam came in again to help me get up and get some chat. I was in the bathroom and she tried opening the drawer where my make up bag is...all the while saying "my eyes are killing me!" ha...I have NO clue where she got that one from!!
After breakfast I headed into town to get wrapping paper and cards for our twin nieces. Tomorrow is their real birthday, but today was the family party....and I was kind of unprepared! I hurried home and got the gifts wrapped....Howie and Sam were already dressed and ready to go! DJ and I were staying home to be mellow.
And mellow it was!! He started getting hungry at lunch time, so I made him a half peanut butter sammy...and he wolfed it down!! I got busy in the kitchen while he watched tv and laid around. When I got done everything on my list, we laid on the couch together and watched a VeggieTales movie...and I'm not sure which one I picked, but we both thought it funny they were wearing boots as hats! Howie called when he got close to home so we could get ready to head out.
Since DJ was doing good, we all headed to costco to finish the shopping. Surprisingly, having Howie there with me didn't increase the bill! lol And on Sunday afternoons right before they close, there's no sampling to ignore! Kinda nice!! And all the cashiers were at the ready!!! Even better! It was 6 when we left, and I'm real thankful we got a roast chicken from there for dinner! While Howie unloaded the groceries, I got busying steaming veggies for dinner. Oh and making Swiss Chalet sauce to go with the chicken! YUM!
After dinner the kids played for a bit, but then got ready for bed. I'd gotten them both new toothbrushes today in hopes of keeping germs down! I didn't realize at the time that I'd gotten two Spiderman ones...but Sam was just as thrilled as DJ was with his...so it works! Thanks to my new toy that I got yesterday, I was able to put labels on each one so they know what's what!! I love my new label maker!! :)
Once the kids were in bed I got a HUGE hint to make some ice cream....quite funny actually! So, tonite I made blueberry and it was delicious!!! I think I prefer blueberry over the vanilla! Howie watched some of Amazing Race with me and then went to bed. Army Wives came back tonite and it was like getting to see some old girlfriends again!! Love this show!!! And of course I enjoyed Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters as usual! Now, after Sam coming out to pee and DJ coming out to snuggle, saying he couldn't sleep (yeah right!) its my turn to head in! About 9:30 Howie came in to wake me, but he'd decided we weren't taking DJ to church, but I needed to get up anyways lol. Sam came in again to help me get up and get some chat. I was in the bathroom and she tried opening the drawer where my make up bag is...all the while saying "my eyes are killing me!" ha...I have NO clue where she got that one from!!
After breakfast I headed into town to get wrapping paper and cards for our twin nieces. Tomorrow is their real birthday, but today was the family party....and I was kind of unprepared! I hurried home and got the gifts wrapped....Howie and Sam were already dressed and ready to go! DJ and I were staying home to be mellow.
And mellow it was!! He started getting hungry at lunch time, so I made him a half peanut butter sammy...and he wolfed it down!! I got busy in the kitchen while he watched tv and laid around. When I got done everything on my list, we laid on the couch together and watched a VeggieTales movie...and I'm not sure which one I picked, but we both thought it funny they were wearing boots as hats! Howie called when he got close to home so we could get ready to head out.
Since DJ was doing good, we all headed to costco to finish the shopping. Surprisingly, having Howie there with me didn't increase the bill! lol And on Sunday afternoons right before they close, there's no sampling to ignore! Kinda nice!! And all the cashiers were at the ready!!! Even better! It was 6 when we left, and I'm real thankful we got a roast chicken from there for dinner! While Howie unloaded the groceries, I got busying steaming veggies for dinner. Oh and making Swiss Chalet sauce to go with the chicken! YUM!
After dinner the kids played for a bit, but then got ready for bed. I'd gotten them both new toothbrushes today in hopes of keeping germs down! I didn't realize at the time that I'd gotten two Spiderman ones...but Sam was just as thrilled as DJ was with his...so it works! Thanks to my new toy that I got yesterday, I was able to put labels on each one so they know what's what!! I love my new label maker!! :)
Once the kids were in bed I got a HUGE hint to make some ice cream....quite funny actually! So, tonite I made blueberry and it was delicious!!! I think I prefer blueberry over the vanilla! Howie watched some of Amazing Race with me and then went to bed. Army Wives came back tonite and it was like getting to see some old girlfriends again!! Love this show!!! And of course I enjoyed Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters as usual! Now, after Sam coming out to pee and DJ coming out to snuggle, saying he couldn't sleep (yeah right!) its my turn to head in! I Am Number Five
Of six in my family!!!
Today was SOOO busy...and very expensive!!!
I did get to sleep in til 10...it was SO quiet in the house with the kids outside playing already. Kinda nice!! Howie was languishing, enjoying his coffee waiting for me to get up and make breakfast. But we cheated on breaky this morning since it was so late, we did South Beach breakfast bars instead. They're actually pretty tasty!
The kids came in once they knew I was up....but we were heading out the door about 11 heading to town to buy a new computer. We were gonna wait til tomorrow as I'd gotten an email from Staples with the newest ad that comes out tomorrow....and there was a pc on there that was worth waiting for...but then I had the genius to check what this week's ad had to say and there was an even better one for this week. So we headed in to see what was what. We got there and the price of the one we saw said 648...but the ad said 599, so Howie got someone to price check it and sure enough, it was 599! Here's the tricky part....then there's charges for data transfer, back up discs...you name it! Then Norton...and...and...and! I just kept sayin no, since I really want to keep it simple! I'm not a techie by any means!!!
All told it took over 2 hours to go from walking in to walking out! The kids started getting antsy after an hour and a half, so Howie took them out and I waited for the paperwork. We'd decided to clean tune up the old tower and put the old system downstairs for the kids to use. And eventually, for homework. DJ seems to think its just for him, but he'll be corrected soon enough! There's nothing wrong with it other than its slow and its 4 years old...which in computer years is 40!!!
It was almost 2 by the time we got home and got lunch going....I was beyond hungry then! Kids were too!!! Then I got busy wrapping gifts for a birthday party that DJ had been invited to at Alfy's. That started at 4, so we headed back into town for then and dropped him off. Kinda surreal to leave him at a party. Samantha was not pleased with his leaving!!!
The three of us then went to Lowes and walked around for the next hour and 45 mins...I had a list and we did good getting some home improvement things taken care of. Installation is the next step. We even got cat doors for the two doors that lead to both kitty litters...SO excited to finally get rid of gates and hopping over them! Sam enjoyed "driving" the race car cart...and pushing it too.
We got outta there and went across the street to get DJ from the party...his mouth was covered in icing! He sure was having fun too!! He got a lovely recorder and some gum as a parting gift...that noise maker fairy is itching!!! He enjoyed himself very much and chatted the whole way home. Once we got home, Howie and I took showers to get ready for date nite. Since he let me go to that Avon meeting on our anniversary, we made up for it tonite with dinner and a movie.
We finally got out of the house at 7:30 and headed for Canyons for dinner. We've eaten there with mom and dad a couple times, so we're familiar. I have to say, it was tough to "south beach" the menu!!! But I think we did a fantastic job!!! He got the steak, sauteed veggies and beans...skipping the taters and garlic bread. I got the ribs and beans with a side of broccoli instead of taters. And I got a side salad to start with. It was very delicious!!
Dinner was done at 8:20 and the movie didn't start til 9:30 so we headed across the street to Freddy's. He needed something for work, and I'd forgotten to get mouthwash when I did the shopping yesterday. We took our time walking around and looking at things since we had time to kill.
Got to the theater with 15 mins still to spare...but I had to pee so bad, and it was cold outside. We sat and people watched til it was time to go in. Have you heard of these new DBox seats....they move and vibrate throughout the movie. They're an extra 8 bucks a ticket...and even tho we were 10 rows behind them, we could still feel the vibrations. Not worth the extra $$!
We saw I Am Number Four...not at all what I was expecting...but still good. I think as I'm getting more mature in life I am realizing how light sensitive my eyes are. I don't like dark scene movies...and I don't like it when those dark scenes give way to broad daylight without warning. The fight scenes in this movie were more about light battles than anything and I couldn't watch them it hurt too bad. I wished on more than one occasion that I had my sunglasses with me. Other than that, if you like otherworldly type movies, I highly suggest it!! :)

I didn't mean to go
A little crazy...honest!! But ohmygoodness I scored some good deals!!!!
This morning I looked forward to all week!!!!!! Its been a rather busy week (especially compared to being snowed in last week!!! Was that really only last week!?!?!) and today was no different!! But I go to sleep in til 9 while Howie dealt with the kids before getting ready for work. LOVE that!!!
I got up and went to make us breakfast...the kids were still eating theirs, but were done when we sat down to eat. After Howie left for work, I got busy making up the grocery list for today's adventures! DJ went next door to see if K and C could come over to play...and they did! They all played well...love that!!! They got called home for lunch and I got busy making ours.
About 2 I started the whole "let's get out the door" efforts...DJ was being especially obstinate...he didn't want to go with me...and quite frankly, I didn't want him with me with that attitude! So I called next door to see if he could stay behind...and sure enough he could...the boy moved fast then!!! SamSam was a bit upset, but we packed up a couple juice packs and some grapes and she was placated. So off we went!!! First stop was DJ's school to get some gift cards. You see, they have this tuition assistance program where you buy loaded gift cards from the school, and the company you're buying from donates up to 5% back to that child's tuition costs....oh, I'm ALL over that!!!! Especially now that Freddy's has gas!!!!! I figure it can make a difference of 30.00 a month...more if I explain it right to family members who would want to buy them too!!
After the school we went to the post office, the co-op, and the fairgrounds....there is a HUGE consignment sale happening this weekend...and I had a free admission coupon....and only one child to mind....so I thought I'd check it out. 125.00 later I was stocked!!! I got birthday items for both kids (clothes), Christmas items for Sam to grow into, and birthday items for a party the kids just got invited to! Plus a few "now" items for each one. 16 of my 26 items were brand new with the tags on!!! Those 16 items alone, at new price would have been 178....so I think I did pretty darn good!!! *pats herself on the back*
After that we headed to Freddy's to do the shopping!! My most exciting find was sugar free hard candies (cookies and cream baskin robins flavoured) and some sugar free chocolate!! SO awesome!!! Sam did really good too...she did ask to go into PlayLand...but I want to keep her healthy, and since it was just her, she stayed with me. Got outta there and headed homeward. Stopped at the shed first, wasn't much for us as it was a bread day, and since we're not doing bread, didn't need much!
We got home just as I was being texted to see if DJ could stay for dinner...and I said sure...but he came out to see if he could...which just upset Sam. She'd been missing him while we were out. And then to learn he wasn't coming in for dinner just broke her down...so I sent her over to see if she could join them. Poor thing got sent back (they were doing a birthday party for the oldest boy) and she bawled the whole way home upset with Michaela...kinda made me chuckle. So we went in and sat together to calm her down before I could finish unloading. Once I got everything in and all the cold stuff put away, I got her dinner and then mine. Leftovers it was!!
Bed time was a wee bit late...and Howie came home right in the middle of teeth brushing. So he helped me tuck 'em both in...DJ was so tired, he was 80% asleep when I tucked him in after tucking SamSam in. Love when he's already asleep on me!!! No games that way! I got Howie his dinner and then got the kitchen cleaned up, coffee ready and then finally sat down! He went to bed shortly after and I watched some stuff in dvr and knit a bit. Good nite for me!!
