This morning I woke up to the sound of Howie in the bathroom...he didn't wake me...the one morning I had more to do than just make breakfast and he didn't wake me!! Thankfully I had enough time, but I was in a bit of a panic for a bit there. My Avon came before we ate...I really do love how early in the day it arrives! So, once Howie was well on his way to work, I dove into the box and sorted everything out, and got all my books ready to go. The kids wanted another fort, so I built one and they took it even further...laid down a snuggie and then used the 3rd one we have for a blanket...SO freakin cute!!!
They wanted lunch in the fort again, but I said no, and made a compromise that they could have their promised freezie in there after lunch...which worked all around! As soon as I was done with my lunch I went and took a shower to get ready to leave for the afternoon. I wasn't done and they were banging on the bathroom wall we share just to see if I'd knock back. When I opened the door, DJ fell in the room cuz he'd been leaning against the door...and Sam was right there with him waiting. I got them to get their coats and shoes on and get ready to go...somehow they heard "go fight in the front hall and break Sam's beaded bracelet and make a mess!" Yeah, that's what happened....so fun! Then I got told "just stay up there mama, we're cleaning this mess up!"
We finally got on the road and headed into town...first stop was the salon to drop off books and deliveries...then to the bank, the kids seem to think I go there specifically for them to get a sucker, and then to the co-op to drop off books and check out puppy food prices. Then to DJ's school to drop off books for tomorrow's auction we're not attending at 25.00 a plate of food we can't eat. Then to the main reason of today, costco!! Sam fell asleep somewhere between the school and costco, so when we got there, I sat for 10 minutes to let her sleep some more. She woke up fairly well for it being such a short nap. They both were hungry (it never ends!) and so they enjoyed the sampling while I shopped. Thankfully it was short trip today and I was done in under an hour! Not too shabby!
The next step was to meet up with my g/f who was running low on gas....and thankfully she's about 10 mins from costco, so we meet her at Safeway, which is convenient as I had two things on the list for there. From there we drive her to the only gas station in town (its that small where she is) and then drive her back to her truck. I drive away realizing the main reason for seeing her was still in my pocket, so we turn around and head back to her. She'd given me a great shortcut back to the highway I wanted and it was smooth sailing....til that highway where it bottlenecks and congests. ugh! Finally we get moving and head to Freddy's where I'm to be picking up an Avon return. So while we're there, I had the stupidest idea to let the kids pick out a birthday present for the boy who's party we're attending next weekend. I hereby solemnly SWEAR that I won't be taking these two hellions into Toys R Us ever!!! They forgot what the task at hand was!! They got so self centered it was unreal! Even my baby girl!!! She found Barbie and that's all she could think about...finally we found something that we all agreed on! I even scored a future gift for someone down the line...too good a deal to pass up!
When we got back in the truck I was thoroughly shocked it was 7 pm already!!! HOW did that happen!?!?!?! Since it was so late, I stopped at McD's and got the kids nuggets and fries...they thought that was fantastic!! I made two book drop stops on the way home and finally we pulled into our driveway! I dropped DJ off to get the garbage cans and bring them up to the house...he did all 3and got 3 quarters for the deal! Then he suggested I give 3 to Sam too, to be fair...sweet, but its gonna break the bank! lol Since they were still hungry I suggested an apple and peanut butter...AFTER they cleaned up the "fort" from this afternoon. I'd eaten the South Beach bar that was in my purse when they had McD's so I was still hungry. Since I didn't feel like making anything, or heating anything, I had a bowl of cereal with strawberries....YUM!!! When I got done it was bed time for the kiddos. I was just finishing teeth when Howie came in undetected by the kids....til we sat down to read some books. Then they heard him when they stopped talking...funny how that works! lol
They went to sleep quickly and I got Howie his dinner and chatted his ear off...then we sat and watched tv together for a bit. I've started a skirt for SamSam which took me two cast on tries to get it right. I'm just not good at gauging for 220 stitches! About 10 Howie went to bed, so I took over the dvr and got some stuff watched. The Mentalist is always entertaining! I can never figure it out! Then I watched Friday Night Lights which was also good...so sad this is its final season. Last but not least, Blue Bloods...I'm enjoying the underlying story line. I got a good two inches done on the skirt and I'm calling it a day!!
Til next time...God bless!

All day I see titles in my head
Of what I want the day's post to read...and when I get in front of the computer, I'm blank!!! Kinda frustrating!!
Samantha was a PILL today! She woke up crying and I swear she didn't stop til she was in bed!! She was miserable!!! If anyone needs proof that 3 year old girls can PMS, I got the proof baby!!! A basket case about the littlest things!! Yes, they mostly made me laugh (I couldn't let her see that tho) and it was purely theatrical and SO over the top...but damn, she was miserable!! If ever there was a day where she should have stayed in bed, it was today!!
She got dressed before breakfast amongst tears about something or other...then after breakfast she and DJ were playing as usual, but because she was on Code RED, she wasn't handling his pushing/shoving/playing antics well. Every five seconds she was in hysterics "DJ hurt me!!!" Like I'm supposed to do something....and yes, there were times where I could tell by the gleam in his eye that he'd done it on purpose and he'd get punished, but most of the time it was accidental.
To try and change the mood, we got creative and finished up the bird houses we painted a while ago....I'd gotten them some sparkles to add to it and today I got the glue gun out and went to town! Where ever they wanted the gem, that's where I put it....no questions asked! They had fun looking at it and saying "ummmm there!" and watching it go in place. They also did some colouring while waiting their turn...both of them are getting better at staying in the lines! Sam more than DJ believe it or not.
Before lunch they wanted a fort made in the living room...DJ dragged two chairs over and put the blue snuggie over them and called it his fort...not very big, so I modified it for him so that Sam could be in there too! Even got a clip out to secure the roof! He thought I was the best mom ever, might have even erased a "bad mommy" comment from earlier this week! THEN I earned even more brownie points and let them eat their lunch picnic style under the fort! I have to say, it was nice to sit at the table and eat in peace! I even got the grocery list made up.
Just after 2 we headed to town to get gas and groceries....Fred Meyer was the destination. Stopped by the school and got the gift cards for the tuition program (which I'm sad doesn't continue throughout the summer) and then we went to Freddy's. Put the kids in Play Land and off I went! I even had time to wander the kids clothing section. DJ has asked for a purple hooded jacket with Huskies on it...which I didn't see in his size...saw sweatshirts and t-shirts...but I have only looked one place. While I was shopping I got a call from Howie that he was home early since he'd gone in early...how perfect for him to have a quiet house! So when we got done with Fred we headed over to the dollar store and Albertsons to do more shopping. I got talked into sunglasses for both kids and a watch for SamSam! She'd gotten one from my mom and dad's last visit, but it was broken when we opened it, and it never got replaced. So, now she has a Pooh Bear watch!! Its currently in her jewelery box...keeping safe!
When we got home the histrionics continued...the kids played outside and before I could finish unloading the groceries she was in crying about something or other. Then she had to potty and she didn't bother going back out to play...just stayed in with me and Howie, who'd woken up only minutes earlier. Dinner was an ordeal for her...not for DJ, but for her....nothing was making her happy. She even got lippy with me at one point and was almost sent to her room, but she snapped out of it and behaved a bit.
I bathed them both after dinner and she was a chore...there's no such thing as a speedy bath in her world...and she didn't want lotion on after...and didn't want her hair combed til I told her we could very easily cut if off if she wouldn't let me comb it. Brushing her teeth made her cry...so did flossing...are you seeing the pattern of the day!?!?!?! I was THRILLED to tuck her into bed!! Gave her many kisses and shut the light out! DJ was already asleep when I went into his room, so he played himself to tired this afternoon. He was yawning up a storm in the bath too, so I knew he was more than ready for bed.
When I finally sat down we watched Idol results....HALLELUJAH Jacob's gone!!!!! Found it interesting that Scotty has never been in the bottom 3, just randomly put there...what a pit of the stomach feeling and then finding out it was all for naught! UGH! lol And Miss Lauren is ONLY 16!!!!!!! That's nuts!!! Now we're getting down to the wire and it'll be interesting to see how this plays out! (Fifi, it was Hayley who sang House of the Rising Sun...not Lauren....but it did work, she's there for another week!! :) Just thought I'd comment here instead of after your comment...make sense?)
Grey's was good....two weddings for the price of one!!! PP was good also...didn't see the Vegas thing coming! It was cute tho! Then I finally watched this week's episode of The Good Wife...WOW!!! just wow! It was good too!! Oh, and I finished off the second skirt I was making, but can't post pix of it til I give it as the baby gift...so you'll have to wait, but it sure looks cute!!! NOW I can finally make one for SamSam!!
Til next time...God bless!

I've earned the Bad Mommy award
THREE times already this week!!!
Beat that!
Today's "moment" was brought to you by rock meeting head.
This morning started far too early for Samantha...she is getting up when the sun does, and its tough to convince her she needs to keep sleeping! She's already got blinds AND navy blue curtains, but somehow she senses daylight! And not in a vampire way!
Finally at 7:30 I gave in and let her get up...DJ was still sleeping! And slept til almost 8...in this OWN bed even!! Will wonders never cease! There was no breakfasts made, or spilled milk....no, instead, there was nekkidness due to some flip flops I'd left on the table for them. Now, DJ hates having things between his toes, but keeps telling me he needs a pair of flip flops (K has them) so when I saw these at Micheal's yesterday, I had to get them....they have a stay on strap at the back of the shoe....so it's a thong shoe with a strap so they don't slip off and he flops around on the ground! PERFECT!!!! They both went to bed in pj's that had feet attached, and we all know you can't wear flip flops with footed pj's!!!! By the time I got up (after saying yes to them undressing for the shoes) they'd both dressed themselves fully (Sam even had her clothes on right!) and were wearing their flip flops. Cute!
After breakfast I got busy wrapping the birthday gift for the party we were attending this morning at the Fire Station....and then I got myself ready and the kids re-dressed. Sam got to wear a dress (her fave) and I wanted DJ in less "holey" clothing. I wanted out the door by 10 and it was exactly that when I hopped in the truck! SWEET!!!! Turns out, we could have been late! I'd read the email to say 10:30, but apparently everyone else read 10:45...and the tour itself didn't start til 11...which my two were VERY anxious for after waiting a half hour! It was a short and sweet tour...no sirens or hoses, but a walk thru the fire truck and a demo of a heart machine in the ambulance. I will say tho, the most important thing DJ learned today was 911...and stop, drop and roll! They both enjoyed themselves!
When we were done the tour we headed across the street to the library where we were having the actual party. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a full on lunch...which the kids did really well with! It sure was tough for me to resist the homemade cookies, rice krispie treats, pretzel ladders made with chocolate, and cake! So I stuck to the fruit and turkey wraps! The pinata was a mess of candy, which I've hidden half of, and thankfully DJ was more interested in claiming all the bouncy balls he could find...he had 8 at one point and I made him take 5 of them back! There was actually so much candy, the parents had to pick it up off the floor when the kids were done taking what they wanted. Sam was thoroughly pleased with the horn whistle things (great!) and blower thingies. Maybe I am doing something right! lol
I also had my first encounter with a boy who wore a Princess dress up dress...at first, I honestly thought it was a girl with a pixie cut...took me an hour to finally hear his name, Brayden, and realize it was a boy. Neither of my kids noticed anything as they're far too self absorbed really. Not a bad thing in this case as I'd have no clue how to explain it to them. Can someone explain it to me?
We left there shortly after 2 and headed for home....where the kids changed back into their play clothes. Since it was such a gorgeous day out, we headed out to work in the garden...which meant I did the work and they did the playing at it. I did get it all weeded today and the soil turned over. And most of the big rocks were put to one side...and I learned not to use the hoe to toss a rock...its bound to hit someone in the head! Yeah, it hit DJ, and I was called a bad mommy...for the third time this week...I'm losing cred here! At this rate, I'm talkin myself out of a Mother's Day gift!
About 4 I headed in, I needed a break before starting dinner prep...pancakes, yum...but that didn't set well with the kids and they thought I should be taking them out on a bike ride. So they waited patiently for Howie to come home and ask him...but he turned them down flat! He's still not well, there wasn't enough time, and it was an Awana nite! It was also the last Awana nite...next week is awards nite, and that's all she wrote!!! Gonna be strange to be home on a Wednesday nite again. And I'll miss chatting with DJ on the way to and from as next year we'll have Sam with us!
We stopped on the way home to get a bag of salad for tomorrow's lunches, and then came home. Howie was already in bed as he's getting up stupid early for work, in fact, I'm to stay awake til 2:30 to make sure he gets up! I'll be more than ready to fade when I nudge him awake! Since he was already in bed, I tucked DJ in and sat down to knit and watch tv. Survivor was wicked!! No way would I have given up a family visit to make 6 people who voted me off happy....nuts!! Oh and Matt's bro is HOTT!!! There, I said it! lol
After that was a bunch of sitcoms, and then I fast forward watched Idol...I think the bottom two this week are Hayley and Jacob, with Jacob going home! He just over does everything, and Hayley had that drunk/drugged look on tonite. Lauren nailed it even tho I didn't know that Carrie song, Scotty did okay, he's not gonna win, but its not his time yet. I do better just listening to him, I can't watch him. And James...James KILLED it!!! I didn't get to see his first song, but I could feel his second one!!! SO good!
Now, I simply must go get these contacts out...thank God for spell check!!
Til next time...God bless!

No use crying over spilled milk!
This morning I woke up to both kids in bed with me...I'm beginning to see a pattern here....they got up and went to the sippy cups I'd left them. About 45 minutes later they came back to me....and we snuggled for a bit...and of course talked about Rapunzel again...they're still digesting the whole story! Today's conversation was about the song "Mother knows best!!" and it was quite funny! Then we talked about breakfast, and then DJ asked if he could get it ready...so I said sure! I got up and took my time getting dressed, he came back in and said it was ready!
Boy, did he mean ready!!! Like READY ready! As in ready to eat!!!
He'd gotten the bowls down, poured us all cereal, AND the milk!!! If I'd known that, I wouldn't have puttered in the bathroom! If there's one thing I hate, its soggy cereal! Its why I don't do oatmeal! blech! BUT, he'd done his damnest to be nice and wanted me to be proud of him...as I cleaned up the spilled milk on the counter. His was extra full of milk, so I'm gonna assume he poured his first lol
We ate our breakfast and then the kids got dressed (spilled milk on pj's will do that to ya) and I got busy with Avon. Not sure why, but I'm struggling the last couple campaigns...wonder if the weather is getting everyone down. Whatever it is, better stop! Once my order was in we got ready to head out to do the pizza run....and the consignment drop...and the book drop...and the bank...
The kids are pros at the bank now....they ask for their windows down so they can say "hi"...which means they get a sucker...they're not stupid! Since they'd eaten pizza for lunch while we were driving around, a sucker was a "go" for them. The consignment shop took my big stuff, which is great, but kinda annoying when they think my clothes aren't up to par! :( I'm gonna get rid of them one way or another...and that means garage sale! But not my garage...the church is having one in June to raise money for Uganda...so perfect!
When we finally got home I was starving...so I made my lunch and chatted with my parents while eating...since tonite was an Avon meeting nite, I had soup and an open faced sandwich, but didn't eat the bread...just didn't appeal to me really. Then when I got off the phone I headed in for a shower. The meeting tonite was a bit unusual in that we weren't talking about anything specific...it was bingo nite...but on top of that, was a contest to see who could wear the most Avon. I had to write mine down so I wouldn't forget!! I nailed it!!! I had 37 things Avon on my person!! Now, normally I don't wear that much when I go out, but I decked myself out tonite :) it was all fun!
After the meeting we (I had my neighbour's girl and one of my local reps with me) stopped in to see Micheal...I had a couple coupons and was in need of some yarn to finish the skirt I'm making now...so, a necessity...yeah, that's it! lol We got out of there relatively unscathed and headed for home. Dropped Jaime off and then took myself and Michaela home. Howie was still up, but not watching The Voice like I expected...he was caught up in some series on netflix! When he discovered the time, he went to bed! Once I was done his lunch stuffs, I sat down to watch The Voice....and knit!
The Voice...I just LOVE this concept!! And apparently I'm not alone as quite a few on my newsfeed in fb are raving about it too! Some really great voices! and some not so great ones...but thankfully the judges have good ears! Now all 4 have their teams and next week its battle week...should be interesting. Glee was good too...I've got one of the songs they sang stuck in my head...You can go your own way....there, I shared it, hopefully it'll leave my head now! :)
Til next time...God bless!

Punzel's mom said...
"You can never leave the tower"
Apparently that little tidbit of info from Tangled has been stuck in Sam's head...she must have asked me 12846658 times what "Punzel's mom said" It was super cute!!
I do believe Miss SamSam has figured out how to wake up early enough to NEED to sleep with me...a trick DJ has mastered!! I have no clue what time it was when I woke up to her beside me saying she needed me...so she climbed in and we fell back to sleep. DJ was already sleeping at my back. After a while I wasn't comfortable, so I gave her a little pillow and rolled over and had her at my back....til she rolled the wrong way and fell off the bed! That was at quarter to 7...I calmed her down and she went back to sleep with me holding her tightly so she wouldn't fall off again. Then they both got up at 7:30...I got them sippys and went back to bed waiting for them to want breakfast. About 8:30 they both came in and snuggled with me for a half hour while we had our Punzel chat...I was laughing so hard! Great way to start a day!!!
After breakfast DJ was all about heading next door...he already knew it wasn't a church day, or a school day, but I made him wait til 10...then he was off like a shot! OH, during breakfast, we discovered the other two goldfish had died. I'd guess their death was sometime between 6 and 9...Howie fished out the first dead one before he went to work...DJ wanted to call Howie right away and tell him "fish are NOT good pets! Why did you say yes!?!?!" I bust out laughing at that one!!! I had no clue what he was gonna say to him, but that was priceless!
With DJ out of the house, Miss Samantha wanted her nails painted. You see, I'd made a deal with her a month ago that if she stopped biting her nails, I'd paint them...and it worked!!!!! She's done FABULOUS about not biting them! So proud of her I am! She picked cotton candy pink and we did two coats. While the second coat was drying I laid on the couch while she sat in my chair with her hands held up and all fingers splayed wide open. I looked over a half hour later, and she was sound asleep! ha! Patience is a virtue! So, while she napped, I did the same!
About 1, I got up and made our lunch, and woke her up to eat it. She said she enjoyed the nap...awww. Then about 2:30 I messaged next door to see if DJ needed to come home since I was heading to the shed to do books...and he did...so he did! He had fun he said...he always enjoys it over there! He had lunch over there, but came home looking for a second one! So a cheese stick and banana later we're ready to head out the door. There weren't too many books, so it didn't take long...but man it was raining hard!! And it was a cold rain!!! brrrrrr
We got home and I got working on the laundry and finding things that have been cluttering for a while to take to the consignment shop...since there are only 4 boxes of books, I had lots of room for stuff! I filled it up too! Howie got home about 4:30 and emptied his bag and went to change...or so I thought...turns out he went to lay down since he was feeling miserable with the kids' sinus infection crap! He even got the eye junk! Poor guy!! Since I was sure there was no bbq'ing in him, I did sketti for dinner. Put a movie on for the kids and sat with them for a bit to keep them quiet. Seems between him coming home, and dinner time is their rowdy time.
After dinner I bathed the kids and then read to them since I knew Howie wasn't feeling well. Tucked them both into bed and sat down to watch DWTS with Howie...who'd seen it from the start...didn't matter much since they did two dances anyways. Just before 9 Howie went to bed hoping to sleep some of the junk off....but not before I gave him his eye drops while singing "blink blink blink, don't rub" lol
My assessment of tonite's dances...it'll either be Kendra, or Kirstie going home...its really a matter of who's going to win now, not a popularity contest. We'll see. Castle was good tonite too! I knit the nite away and got the bottom layer of the skirt done, and started the top layer....not pushing myself to get it done as fast as the first one...I had a time limit to that one since it was a gift and given yesterday!
Til next time...God bless!

Talk about BUSY!!
This morning I was wakened by Samantha yelling for me from the bathroom....it was 6:47, not really an ideal time of day to be pooping, but she did! I convinced her then to come back to my bed and go back to sleep as it wasn't time to get up yet. Miraculously, she did!!! And the three of us (DJ was in there too!) didn't get up til after 8:30!! What bliss after getting up at 4 am the morning previous!
We got up and got right to breakfast...and then they got dressed. Samantha was beyond excited to finally wear her Easter dress!!! Dizzyingly so...she kept twirling and twirling! DJ looked dapper in his shirt and pants...what good lookin kids! Then I hopped in the shower and got ready myself. We were late getting out the door, and arrived half way thru music time, but we made it! And I remembered the baby blanket I made for a lady in the church who just had her baby last Wednesday.
After church we went home and Howie was waiting for us...he had to work today so wasn't able to attend service with us...but that's also why he had Thursday off. So I got busy feeding everyone and then got the kids changed. We were on our way up the street to go see Belle!!! Its been two weeks and I was anxious to see how much she's grown! Its incredible!!! She's twice the size of what we saw two weeks ago...still a little lover tho! She just snuggled right into Howie's neck when he picked her up! Mine too when I got my hands on her...I even got puppy kisses on the neck...SO sweet!!! The kids each got to hold her and we watched her romp around in the yard. She tried biting at their knees when they were sitting on the ground...and my bare ankles when she found me, those teeth may be small, but they are sharp! Good thing I've already got the bitter spray bought! We're gonna need it!
We walked home and I got Sam back into her party dress, we had a birthday party to attend. Got the gift ready to go and off the 3 of us went! Howie's got the kids' sinus infection crap, so he stayed behind and did yard work...or rather, dandelion control! They're nuts out here this year!!! Popping up literally over nite! We've got a buyer for the firewood, so there's no more work to be done with that...just waiting for him to come get it. Sweet!
We were 3rd to arrive at the party, and I couldn't get over how bit Nola is!!!! I think the last time we saw them was 8 months ago...babies grow HUGE in that time!!! She's a bit deceiving, she's quiet and calm til you don't give her what she wants...then the shrieking starts! I don't miss those days one bit! With Sam tho, I didn't have my hearing aids in most of the time...today, they were in...man was she loud!!! She did awesome with her smash cake tho!!! Wyndi had thought of it all too...had regular cake, specialty cupcakes, and gluten free cupcakes...just no sugarless ones! lol The kids thoroughly enjoyed their piece of cake! And asked to take a cupcake home too! The two of them enjoyed playing with everyone else, we were outside at the beginning (GORGEOUS day here!!) and their backyard had a creative, so Sam enjoyed the swing immensely! DJ and another boy played well on the climbing stuff.
We left there later than anticipated, but since they'd both eaten something at 4, I wasn't in a rush to get home for dinner...and since it wasn't a bath nite, again, no hurry. We got home about 6:30 and Howie had dinner well under way. I jumped in for the veggies but he had the burgers done before I could blink! Sam started running a fever again, 99.1 this time, so she didn't eat much, which is fine with me. Once they were done, the 3 of us hopped back in the truck and went to the shed to shop, and came home. Once home it was pj time! Poor miserable Samantha....she fought valiantly, but I won and she went to bed. She's not dealing well with all the light outside at bedtime...keeps telling me its NOT bedtime!!! Smart cookie she is!
Once they were in bed, I joined Howie in watching tv...it was then that I learned via text that Bin Laden had been killed. Talk about history in the making!! Then I discover that 66 years ago today, Hitler was killed too! Not a good day for bad guys! And it ruined my evening programs! Almost missed Amazing Race, but they just pushed it back an hour and I caught it, whew! They also did the same to Desperate Housewives, and omitted Brothers & Sisters entirely. Oh well, just meant I had time to watch Army Wives. And knit the whole nite away!
Til next time...God bless!

4 am is really no time to be waking up!!
But that's what time my husband woke us all up at!!
WHY??
To go fishing!!!
Today was opening day of trout season and if possible, he likes to go and take us with him. Last year was DJ's first year to go out with him (and a buddy) and this year was Sam's first time to go...but that meant I had to go too! So we were all woken in the middle of the nite (almost literally) and dressed in our warmest clothes to get in the truck and go.
Howie's goal was 4:30 to be gone, it was 4:32 when we pulled out of the driveway....not too shabby for a bunch of half asleep folks!! The kids had Tangled on and I was hoping they'd go back to sleep...but nooooo, they were awake the whole way there!! Chatting about how dark it was and that they couldn't even see the trees!!! It was starting to get light just after 5 and Sam was good with that.
We got to Lake McMurray and thankfully we were the first ones there boat-wise, so Howie was able to put the boat in the water no problem! Right from the moment Sam got on the boat she was NOT a happy camper!! Didn't like the rocking. Thought we were gonna sink. Didn't like the rocking. Just over all cranky! Pleasant little girl! DJ on the other hand felt like I'd taken his place on the boat...since he's been on it more in the last year than me!
We got out on the water and waited for the fish to bite. And waited. And waited. And finally at 7:45 we got the first fish! Sam got to reel it in since it was her first time and all. DJ was cool with being net boy. Me, I was the driver and at the same time trying to take pictures for posterity! After the first fish we thought it was start to pick up since it was getting lighter and lighter out. It didn't. But it gave DJ a chance to use the lovely boat apparatus to pee in. Which somehow triggered Sam's bladder and she needed to pee (and poop) so Howie got the boat potty all ready for her, I had to fully undress her to get her on it and she FREAKED out!!!!! Did not like it one bit! (I took pix of everything, they're on fb) So, off she got and she held it til we went on land.
She fell asleep about 8 which was a blessing...she'd gotten really super cranky, so I sat her on my lap and held her tight while humming and she was out in seconds!! DJ fell asleep on me too...but didn't get to really nap as there was a fish on! In fact, all 3 lines were bobbing at one point!! But since I was pinned by Sam (and a fully numbed butt) they could only land two...and lost the third one. Either way, DJ was happy he got woken for it all!
About 9 the kids and I went on land to get breakfast at the lodge...and to use the Nodvendig (bathroom in Norwegian) to get them dressed and for Sam to finally poop! What a trooper she was!! She was in a pull up but didn't go in there which was awesome!! When I dressed her, I asked her if she wanted the pull up again, or undies...she chose pull up...fine by me! At breakfast we were sitting at a table with a center piece of goldfish, real ones, and DJ was mesmerized...then the lady came by and said if we wanted to, we could take it home. The begging started then! I said no, as Howie had said that only animals with 4 feet are allowed in our house...but let him call Howie to ask. He said yes! I then got on the phone to see if he understood what DJ was asking, and he answered that he didn't...so I told him and his response "crap!" So, we ended up with 3 goldfish to take home! Lovely!
Before we got back on the boat we ditched the snow pants and boots and back pack to the truck and then played at the playground for a bit. DJ then had to use the Nodvendig and so we headed that way for him to use the facilities. There's a heater in the women's bathroom that was actually on, so I didn't mind being hauled in there again. In all the years we've gone up there, I don't ever recall a heater in there, so, to whoever put one in there, THANK YOU!! lol
We got back on the boat once Howie's two buddies got off (they'd gone out with him while we were eating) and back out we went fishing. Sam didn't seem to mind the boat this time but was still afraid of sinking. About an hour in, DJ fell asleep and took a good nap...Sam stayed awake and drove the boat a bit, making us dizzy!, and then caught a couple fish. She was HOOKED on the feel of reeling the fish in!!! The smile on her face was awesome!!!! The grin on Howie's face was pretty cool too! He's got another fishing buddy!
But 12:30 I started feelin the motion thing, so we headed in....still took a good while to get to the launch as we were only going 1mph. We stayed on the boat til Howie pulled us right out and parked to unload everything. By 1:05 we were on our way home. We pulled out of the driveway and checked the price of a house for sale there (HA!) and that was the last thing I remember!! We got home about 2:30, but I simply undid my seat belt and put my blanket pillow on the console and kept on sleeping. The kids were out too! Next thing I knew it was 3:30 and I had a lovely kink in my neck! Sam had woken up and needed to pee, so I got her out. Tried waking DJ but he wasn't ready to wake up yet.
At 4 I tried waking Howie, not knowing how long he'd been sleeping IN THE BED for...but he wanted another half hour. So Sam and I went and got the mail and newspaper and finally woke DJ up. At 4:30 we got Howie up and I headed into town. We've never owned a fish, so we don't have fish food...we eat fish! lol And I needed to attend my local rep, Jaime, little shindig at her house. When I got home dinner was well under way! The kids were outside playing with the boys next door, and all was good. DJ ate dinner quickly as he wanted to get back out there and play before his bath. When he's motivated he sure can eat! I then bathed SamSam and got her ready for bed....Howie put her in bed while I finished up washing DJ and they were both out quickly.
Howie was right behind them!! I could have gone to bed too, but then I'd be up again at 4 am, and that's not how I want my nights to be! thankyouverymuch! So, I sat down and finished the ends of my sweater off, watched stuff in dvr, and started another skirt. Nice, mellow nite! I'm still feeling the motion sickness, and hope when I lay down it'll stop! Please God!
Til next time...God bless!
