This morning DJ woke up next to me at 7:15...but at the time I didn't think anything of the heat he was projecting as he'd been laying next to me. 10 minutes later he came back into the bedroom and said he threw up all over himself and daddy's chair. Howie, bless his heart, got up to take care of the cleaning and DJ. It took a bit for me to doze back to sleep...and then Sam came in for a 30 second snuggle and she was off again.
About 9:30 Howie came in to wake me, but he'd decided we weren't taking DJ to church, but I needed to get up anyways lol. Sam came in again to help me get up and get some chat. I was in the bathroom and she tried opening the drawer where my make up bag is...all the while saying "my eyes are killing me!" ha...I have NO clue where she got that one from!!
After breakfast I headed into town to get wrapping paper and cards for our twin nieces. Tomorrow is their real birthday, but today was the family party....and I was kind of unprepared! I hurried home and got the gifts wrapped....Howie and Sam were already dressed and ready to go! DJ and I were staying home to be mellow.
And mellow it was!! He started getting hungry at lunch time, so I made him a half peanut butter sammy...and he wolfed it down!! I got busy in the kitchen while he watched tv and laid around. When I got done everything on my list, we laid on the couch together and watched a VeggieTales movie...and I'm not sure which one I picked, but we both thought it funny they were wearing boots as hats! Howie called when he got close to home so we could get ready to head out.
Since DJ was doing good, we all headed to costco to finish the shopping. Surprisingly, having Howie there with me didn't increase the bill! lol And on Sunday afternoons right before they close, there's no sampling to ignore! Kinda nice!! And all the cashiers were at the ready!!! Even better! It was 6 when we left, and I'm real thankful we got a roast chicken from there for dinner! While Howie unloaded the groceries, I got busying steaming veggies for dinner. Oh and making Swiss Chalet sauce to go with the chicken! YUM!
After dinner the kids played for a bit, but then got ready for bed. I'd gotten them both new toothbrushes today in hopes of keeping germs down! I didn't realize at the time that I'd gotten two Spiderman ones...but Sam was just as thrilled as DJ was with his...so it works! Thanks to my new toy that I got yesterday, I was able to put labels on each one so they know what's what!! I love my new label maker!! :)
Once the kids were in bed I got a HUGE hint to make some ice cream....quite funny actually! So, tonite I made blueberry and it was delicious!!! I think I prefer blueberry over the vanilla! Howie watched some of Amazing Race with me and then went to bed. Army Wives came back tonite and it was like getting to see some old girlfriends again!! Love this show!!! And of course I enjoyed Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters as usual! Now, after Sam coming out to pee and DJ coming out to snuggle, saying he couldn't sleep (yeah right!) its my turn to head in! Hopefully tomorrow we'll get the call that the new computer is ready to come home! Using the laptop is okay, but not the same!
Til next time...God bless!

I Am Number Five
Of six in my family!!!
Today was SOOO busy...and very expensive!!!
I did get to sleep in til 10...it was SO quiet in the house with the kids outside playing already. Kinda nice!! Howie was languishing, enjoying his coffee waiting for me to get up and make breakfast. But we cheated on breaky this morning since it was so late, we did South Beach breakfast bars instead. They're actually pretty tasty!
The kids came in once they knew I was up....but we were heading out the door about 11 heading to town to buy a new computer. We were gonna wait til tomorrow as I'd gotten an email from Staples with the newest ad that comes out tomorrow....and there was a pc on there that was worth waiting for...but then I had the genius to check what this week's ad had to say and there was an even better one for this week. So we headed in to see what was what. We got there and the price of the one we saw said 648...but the ad said 599, so Howie got someone to price check it and sure enough, it was 599! Here's the tricky part....then there's charges for data transfer, back up discs...you name it! Then Norton...and...and...and! I just kept sayin no, since I really want to keep it simple! I'm not a techie by any means!!!
All told it took over 2 hours to go from walking in to walking out! The kids started getting antsy after an hour and a half, so Howie took them out and I waited for the paperwork. We'd decided to clean tune up the old tower and put the old system downstairs for the kids to use. And eventually, for homework. DJ seems to think its just for him, but he'll be corrected soon enough! There's nothing wrong with it other than its slow and its 4 years old...which in computer years is 40!!!
It was almost 2 by the time we got home and got lunch going....I was beyond hungry then! Kids were too!!! Then I got busy wrapping gifts for a birthday party that DJ had been invited to at Alfy's. That started at 4, so we headed back into town for then and dropped him off. Kinda surreal to leave him at a party. Samantha was not pleased with his leaving!!!
The three of us then went to Lowes and walked around for the next hour and 45 mins...I had a list and we did good getting some home improvement things taken care of. Installation is the next step. We even got cat doors for the two doors that lead to both kitty litters...SO excited to finally get rid of gates and hopping over them! Sam enjoyed "driving" the race car cart...and pushing it too.
We got outta there and went across the street to get DJ from the party...his mouth was covered in icing! He sure was having fun too!! He got a lovely recorder and some gum as a parting gift...that noise maker fairy is itching!!! He enjoyed himself very much and chatted the whole way home. Once we got home, Howie and I took showers to get ready for date nite. Since he let me go to that Avon meeting on our anniversary, we made up for it tonite with dinner and a movie.
We finally got out of the house at 7:30 and headed for Canyons for dinner. We've eaten there with mom and dad a couple times, so we're familiar. I have to say, it was tough to "south beach" the menu!!! But I think we did a fantastic job!!! He got the steak, sauteed veggies and beans...skipping the taters and garlic bread. I got the ribs and beans with a side of broccoli instead of taters. And I got a side salad to start with. It was very delicious!!
Dinner was done at 8:20 and the movie didn't start til 9:30 so we headed across the street to Freddy's. He needed something for work, and I'd forgotten to get mouthwash when I did the shopping yesterday. We took our time walking around and looking at things since we had time to kill.
Got to the theater with 15 mins still to spare...but I had to pee so bad, and it was cold outside. We sat and people watched til it was time to go in. Have you heard of these new DBox seats....they move and vibrate throughout the movie. They're an extra 8 bucks a ticket...and even tho we were 10 rows behind them, we could still feel the vibrations. Not worth the extra $$!
We saw I Am Number Four...not at all what I was expecting...but still good. I think as I'm getting more mature in life I am realizing how light sensitive my eyes are. I don't like dark scene movies...and I don't like it when those dark scenes give way to broad daylight without warning. The fight scenes in this movie were more about light battles than anything and I couldn't watch them it hurt too bad. I wished on more than one occasion that I had my sunglasses with me. Other than that, if you like otherworldly type movies, I highly suggest it!! :)

I didn't mean to go
A little crazy...honest!! But ohmygoodness I scored some good deals!!!!
This morning I looked forward to all week!!!!!! Its been a rather busy week (especially compared to being snowed in last week!!! Was that really only last week!?!?!) and today was no different!! But I go to sleep in til 9 while Howie dealt with the kids before getting ready for work. LOVE that!!!
I got up and went to make us breakfast...the kids were still eating theirs, but were done when we sat down to eat. After Howie left for work, I got busy making up the grocery list for today's adventures! DJ went next door to see if K and C could come over to play...and they did! They all played well...love that!!! They got called home for lunch and I got busy making ours.
About 2 I started the whole "let's get out the door" efforts...DJ was being especially obstinate...he didn't want to go with me...and quite frankly, I didn't want him with me with that attitude! So I called next door to see if he could stay behind...and sure enough he could...the boy moved fast then!!! SamSam was a bit upset, but we packed up a couple juice packs and some grapes and she was placated. So off we went!!! First stop was DJ's school to get some gift cards. You see, they have this tuition assistance program where you buy loaded gift cards from the school, and the company you're buying from donates up to 5% back to that child's tuition costs....oh, I'm ALL over that!!!! Especially now that Freddy's has gas!!!!! I figure it can make a difference of 30.00 a month...more if I explain it right to family members who would want to buy them too!!
After the school we went to the post office, the co-op, and the fairgrounds....there is a HUGE consignment sale happening this weekend...and I had a free admission coupon....and only one child to mind....so I thought I'd check it out. 125.00 later I was stocked!!! I got birthday items for both kids (clothes), Christmas items for Sam to grow into, and birthday items for a party the kids just got invited to! Plus a few "now" items for each one. 16 of my 26 items were brand new with the tags on!!! Those 16 items alone, at new price would have been 178....so I think I did pretty darn good!!! *pats herself on the back*
After that we headed to Freddy's to do the shopping!! My most exciting find was sugar free hard candies (cookies and cream baskin robins flavoured) and some sugar free chocolate!! SO awesome!!! Sam did really good too...she did ask to go into PlayLand...but I want to keep her healthy, and since it was just her, she stayed with me. Got outta there and headed homeward. Stopped at the shed first, wasn't much for us as it was a bread day, and since we're not doing bread, didn't need much!
We got home just as I was being texted to see if DJ could stay for dinner...and I said sure...but he came out to see if he could...which just upset Sam. She'd been missing him while we were out. And then to learn he wasn't coming in for dinner just broke her down...so I sent her over to see if she could join them. Poor thing got sent back (they were doing a birthday party for the oldest boy) and she bawled the whole way home upset with Michaela...kinda made me chuckle. So we went in and sat together to calm her down before I could finish unloading. Once I got everything in and all the cold stuff put away, I got her dinner and then mine. Leftovers it was!!
Bed time was a wee bit late...and Howie came home right in the middle of teeth brushing. So he helped me tuck 'em both in...DJ was so tired, he was 80% asleep when I tucked him in after tucking SamSam in. Love when he's already asleep on me!!! No games that way! I got Howie his dinner and then got the kitchen cleaned up, coffee ready and then finally sat down! He went to bed shortly after and I watched some stuff in dvr and knit a bit. Good nite for me!!

Believe and you will achieve!!
This morning dawned far too early with too many people in our bed!! Howie said Sam came in about 3 am, and then DJ came in around 4 something...he got up for work and I woke up to a dead arm and hearing him whisper talk to DJ...so I shifted both kids and got comfy for the rest of sleeping. It felt like 5 minutes later we were up for the day!! I like it better when 20 minutes feels like hours!!!
Since we had no day plans, we just kinda hung out...kids took their time getting dressed. By 10:30 DJ wanted to go see if the neighbours were home, they were, but K was sick, so he brought C home with them and the 3 of them played pretty well together. C went home for lunch and came right back...at which point he watched us eat our lunch, and then the three amigos went back to chasing each other, dancing in DJ's room, playing in Sam's room...you name it! They tried the outside playing thing, but it was pretty chilly out there. Within minutes of them coming back in the house, it started pouring outside!!
While they were out tho, I tackled my biggest clutter area....and sorted thru most of it and got it put away neatly.Still some stuff to deal with finding homes for. But it looks way better!!! I think I'll never be destined to have one of those show ready homes!!! S'ok, I know where everything is! :)
I put a movie on for the kids and went to take a shower...I heard C leave, and DJ came to tell me, which was good timing as we needed to boot scoot and boogie!!! The plan was to leave at 3:30, but that ended up being 3:47...pick up one of my local reps, Jaime, and then head to a park and ride to meet up with other reps as we were all going to a Leadership seminar and carpooling together. Yes, I know its my 8 year anniversary, but Howie gave me his blessing to go, and we have a date planned for Saturday nite!! We did the vehicle swap thing...the kids fell asleep on the way to the park n ride...the rain was torrential and the sound of it put them to sleep! Kissed my hubby and got in with one of the other girls for the drive to the restaurant where we were meeting up with other reps for dinner.
Yeah, the coordination of this wasn't perfectly thought out...we went to the wrong Red Robin...and got lost on the way to the right one! Sheesh that was trying!! All the while I'm starving!! We ordered right away and waited. 3 others of our dinner group ended up going somewhere else all together as they didn't to get lost like we did. I was a good girl too!! I split a bunless mushroom burger and got a side of broccoli...even gave all but 4 of my fries to the gal I split with. Perfect!! The only thing I didn't think thru, was the lemonade...til I was halfway thru it that is! Drats!! hidden sugar sux!!
The meeting place wasn't too far away from where we were, so we high tailed it outta there!! Got to the rec center with no time to spare...got checked in and went into the meeting. There were over 200 reps!!! That's a lot of Avoning!! It was a good meeting...the motivation was good, and the upcoming teasers were good too!! It was done about 9 and we were able to fly home practically!! I got to ride in a Prius too...first time ever!! The dashboard is weird!!! Kinda 3D-ish really. Got home just after 10, made good time! Howie was still up, so we chatted for a bit and I let him be to sleep. I then came out to wash my hands and noticed the Mums on the table with a card. Awwwwwwwwwww So I went back to let him know I saw them...and heard how the kids picked them out!!!! So sweet!!!!
Then I sat and watched Survivor...forgot to dvr it last nite, but On Demand had it already, so I got to see Russell go down!!!!! HA!!!!!! Oh that made me chuckle!!!! And the chick who was so defensive for him, was the very one who in the beginning said "I won't be sucked into Russell's group" *rolls eyes* nice try sweetie!!
Til next time...God bless!

Off to see a man
About new tires!! That was the goal of the day!! I made the appointment for 11:30 knowing that 11 was too much to shoot for. I have noticed with two independent children, it takes longer to get out the door!! I was hoping to get out the door by 10:30...I got the kids out exactly at that time...and then need a moment to collect myself and make sure I had everything I needed! All told, we pulled out of the driveway before 10:45 which I consider an accomplishment!!
Got to the Tire place in Kirkland with minutes to spare!!! Sweet! So we head in and DJ is mesmerized by all the tires in the showroom. Sam was too, but not in the Lightning McQueen way DJ was. I'd explained to him what we were having done and he was fascinated to see it done! Good thing they had HUGE windows we could watch from...and they were in the second bay from where we were in the waiting room. We had 3 guys working on the truck and it was pretty quick!! There was even another lady in the waiting room with us, and she somewhat explained to me how to change a tire...something I've never had to do...and hope to never have to do! But at the same time, I'll be making sure Samantha is taught! :) Not at all hypocritical!! ha!
When they were done we hopped in the truck and headed for home...but first I had to tighten up the car seats...not sure why they had to remove them to put the spare back under the vehicle (never knew that either!) but they didn't put it in good and tight! Immediately, like, within the first foot, I could tell the difference in the tires!!! SO weird!!! I felt like I was sticking to the road better...I could fell the traction of the tires! It was quieter and smoother too!! Might have been mental, but damn it felt good!!
We got home and did the lunch thing...and then since the neighbours weren't home, I put on a Netflix movie for the kids and laid on the couch. But rest was not for me! I got a phone call from Howie....FedEx came by with a package for my neighbour and at the same time, two JW women came calling...so I signed for the package, and sent the women on their way. I tried laying down again, but my phone kept going off, and the kids wanted to lay with me, which I love! So no nap for mommy!! Just as well...I was making pizza for dinner and needed to get it going.
Howie got home about 20 minutes later than normal as he'd stopped by the man with the tires and got his car set up with new tires too!! He said he could feel all the things I did too...and knew that going around corners he wasn't gonna slip and slide!! Yeah, they were both that bad!! Pizza was good...it was a whole wheat pre-made crust from Boboli...but it was tasty considering we haven't had any pizza in over 3 weeks now.
DJ and I left as soon as he was done eating for Awana...he was SO happy to get to go!!! We rehearsed his 3 verses to recite and as soon as we got there he headed in to do them right away. His teachers were happy to see him...its been 4 weeks!!! what with illness and snow cancellations. I got right to work with my kids...and they kept me BUSY tonite!!! Time flew right by! The brownies came and went....man, that's tough!!!! lol I took a cheese stick and an apple with me so I munched away on them!
Came home and put DJ to bed and watched the women on AI tonite...the two Laurens really stuck with me!! And Pia...man, she gave me chills and its only the first nite!!!! Truth be told, the guys did much better than the girls collectively!! Should be interesting to see how the votes go! Off the Map was off the hook!!! What a great show! Makes me cringe still tho! lol Guess they're doing their job!
Til next time...God bless!

I can now add
Vacation planner to my list of qualifications!!
This morning while the kids were eating their breakfast, I was texting with my mom and then my dad called...kinda weird come to think of it...usually its mom first. But she was right there beside him. They've both been suffering together with a flu bug. Ok, back to my new job...I was informed that while mom and dad are here in July, they'd like to go to Disneyland with us. *EEEEK!!!!* I've been wanting to go to the Cali one SO bad!!!! And its in my books for 2014...so this kinda moves things up for me...but that's perfectly okay!! Gee, I hope they weren't on any cold meds when they told me all this...and that they remember our conversation!! lol
So I put the word out to my facebook friends asking for any tips/tricks/hints/info about taking a family vacation to Disney! Haven't told the kids...will wait til its closer and somewhat booked before we tell them. Then again, I'd love to tell them both the day we leave that we're going to Mickey's house! HA wouldn't that be awesome!?!?! Hmmm gonna give this more thought!
After I finally got to eat my breakfast, we loaded up and out of the house as I had an eye follow up appointment regarding those horrible contacts I was coerced into getting. I did a stop at the shed to grab a bunch of dessert things to share out with the school I take the books to. Was a bit late to the appointment, but it worked out well as it gave the doc a break til I got there. He came back within a minute of our arrival. Sat and chatted with me about what's what, and ordered another pair for me to try. UGH!
After Freddy's we went to the bank, the consignment shop I deal with...and got DJ a pair of rain boots, that have Lightning on them, a shirt and some grooveless hangers for Sam's shirts...then to the pizza place to pick up their left over pizzas....then finally to the school. Since I had more than enough pizza for our group, I gave 5 of them to the school. Never have I seen pizza inhaled so fast by these teens!! The one kid who came out to the truck to get them from me, I saw 5 mins later walking around with his own box eating...made me chuckle!!
From there we went to the other bank to deposit THE cheque....because the bank we deal with doesn't have a branch in our small town, I had to go to a neighbouring town with a sister bank in it to do the deposit, but at least there's no hold on the money now. Whew! Then we finally headed back home with a pit stop at the gas station first..I was desperate!
By the way, my two children, for their lunch, scarfed down a large pizza between them!!! Granted they don't eat crusts...and most of them were 2 inches in crustness...but still!! WOW! Threw me for a loop!! And yeah, DJ's just fine today!!! No fever, no nothing else!!! Pray he stays that way!!
When we finally got home just after 3, I was starving!!!! So I quick made a salad and ate it!! STARVING!! I'd taken cheese sticks with me, but they barely allowed me to live til food! Then I got busy with searching online for Disney info....and before I knew it Howie was home! YIKES! Nothing planned for dinner...so I suggested the old stand by of hamburgers and kept on working. Only Howie made me switch to getting info on new tires for the vehicles....so I did that instead....and we both have appointments for tomorrow! YAY!!
After dinner the kids just played while Howie and I were watching the clock waiting for bed time!! Thankfully they both went down easy tonite with minimal fuss! Sam didn't even come out for that one last pee! We watched American Idol (AI from here on out) and weren't that impressed! Only two, maybe three, stood out to me....Scotty (the country dude, of course!) and Stefano (the one from Seattle) and the guy who did the rock song, no clue what his name is...but other than that, most were forgettable!! It'll be an interesting year!! Especially since they've already had to bleep Steven Tyler for his excited use of "french" hee hee
Til next time...God bless!

Don't confuse poop for puke
This morning was busy!! So busy I didn't even bother going on the computer as I knew we needed to leave for a FULL day of Avoning!! I wanted to be gone from the house by 10...which is apparently impossible!! I felt like a chicken running around after its head was cut off! They really do that you know! What a mental picture!
DJ woke up fine and full of energy, and not so fevered...he was still warm around the hair line, but other than that, his normal self. He ate a plain english muffin and had juice in the truck. So off we went just about 11am...figured it would be best to go to my furthest distance first, so Mountlake Terrace is was! I had a new customer in the secretary, Kristi, at the hearing aid place I use. And she was more than happy to have me leave books on the table in the waiting room! :)
About noon the kids were hungry, so I gave them their lunch...pizza and grapes. DJ and Sam both pigged out on the grapes!!! They're really good and crunchy!!! Back on the road we go delivering and dropping off books. I realized along the way that I'd forgotten to pack up salad dressing for my lunch...and since it's a Monday, not too many people were home...but I knew one would be and messaged to ask if she had dressing. It was about this time the DJ said he needed to poop...so I told him we'd be able to go at my g/f's house (the one with the dressing) in two more stops. He even asked if we could go in another's house where we were, but they weren't home.
We pull in to Laura's driveway, and he tells me again he needs to poop...so I told him to wait another minute while I ask if he can use her bathroom...which was fine, so in we all go. We're in the kitchen gettin the low down on the dogs out back and DJ is clinging to me saying he needs to go...so I show him where the bathroom and he didn't quite get all the PUKE in the toilet....yeah, he said puke all along!!! I felt like a horrible mother at that point!! And this was just a nasty NASTY smelling one too! Took all my willpower not to add to his mess while cleaning it up!! Just as we're leaving Samantha decides she needs to poop...thankfully, she meant poop!
We kept on going, but DJ fully understood he wasn't getting anything more to eat...or drink or that matter!! We also made a pit stop at Joann's to fuel my newest obsession...these magnets! My first one turned out beautifully!!! So I needed more inspiration and found it in the scrapbooking section!! We also made a trip to the bathroom while there! Better to be safe than sorry! Plus I could smell a bit of that lovely bile scent on DJ, so I had him wash his hands good, and that must have been it, as we were golden after that! Sam fell asleep shortly after 3 and slept for an hour or so while we were driving around!
We got home shortly after 5 and Howie was already home...with the exciting news that THE cheque we'd been waiting a year for, was finally in the mailbox!!! Whew!!!! Finally getting some monkeys off our backs!! Can't wait! Not to mention, new tires all around!! We so desperately need them too!! No more being trapped at home in snow!
After dinner I bathed both kids and then grabbed a shower myself while Howie tucked the kids in bed. They were both waiting up for me to do the final tuck in too!! Such sweethearts!! Oh, DJ's newest phrase is "you scared the puddle outta me" whenever you "scare" him...makes me laugh every time!! When I sat down finally we watched HIMYM...it was good, as usual!! Then Howie went to bed and I put Brad and his ladies on. Getting down to the wire now!! It doesn't surprise me one bit that Ashley was let go tonite...I do applaud him for letting her down gently and privately! But it just wasn't there!! And the fact that he told Emily he was falling in love with her kinda shocked me..and then at the rose ceremony, he called Chantal "baby" when he handed her the rose. I really have NO clue who he's gonna pick!! But I do hope he picks Emily as she doesn't seem easily swayed by attention she's sure to get when this is said and done! Routines are RULE for moms!!
