You don't treat me no good no more!!

This morning everyone woke up happy!! Sam was as excited about the princesses on the pull up as I imagined she'd be! AND it was only 2 lbs wet!! lol She's an amazing girl to be so trained already!! I know the summer will bring accidents as she'll be too busy playing, but right now, she's right on target!!

As soon as possible, we headed out the door to do grocery shopping....first stop was the salon I deal with to leave books and to get some owed money...then, while we were in the same plaza, the plan was to do Albertsons and the dollar store...we did Albertsons, and that was by the skin of my teeth. As we were in line, I discovered my wallet was missing!!! YIKES!!! That is NOT a good feeling!!! So I started racking my brain to remember where I'd been that I could have lost it...thankfully I had the Avon money and paid for my small order. Back in the truck, no wallet...so we headed home. It finally dawned on me that I used it last nite at Freddy's to get the pull ups..so I called over there and there'd been no wallet turned in. Panic is starting to set in as I recall everything that's IN the wallet...thankfully I keep my driver's license separate, so I still have I.D. of some sort...argh!!! We get home and I'm still trying to remember taking my wallet out for whatever reason...and nothing is coming to me...I walk in the front door and there it is sitting on the shoes...my purse had fallen off the shoe cubby thingy and dumped my wallet out. OY!

Back in the truck I go and back into town we go....first the bank, then to Freddy's to do the real shopping. We did the potty stop for SamSam, who peed on command, and then they went into Play Land easily. I then hit up the clothing section...I'd looked last week remember? So this time I was kidless and could try on stuff. Found 4 tops and a pair of jeans...two of the tops were keepers, and the jeans...WOW it was like hugging an old friend!! I've never had jeans speak to me...but these whispered "hello" and "take me home" they felt SO good!!! So, I did!! lol Then I did the rest of the shopping and picked THE SLOWEST CASHIER EVER in all my time shopping there!! She was chatty and really nice, but man, was she slow!! So much so, that I was 15 mins late getting the kids, but they could see me in line,...and it taking forever...so I had mercy!

After shopping we hit up McD's for lunch since it was already after 2...I was starving, so I knew they were too! Then we headed home and unloaded...the kids played outside for a few minutes, but the neighbours (who we'd seen shopping, and K and C were in Play Land with the kids) weren't home yet, so they both came in. Once all the food was put away, I got them settled with a Dora and hopped in the shower. I had a date!!!

Pretty much as soon as Howie got home, I was leaving...within 15 mins anyways...took that long to get out of the house with all the hugging and kissing DJ insisted on!! I finally left....for a couple seconds...I'd forgotten my camera....I called into the house instead of running back in and DJ brought it out to me....with no tears!! As I pulled away I realized I'd forgotten my Flip...but that's okay, I lived without it. I met up with my g/f Pearl and she had Stephanie with her...and we picked up Ashley along the way...and then finally to Renton and a bar named Jack's. We had 4 other friends there who were already in, so once we got checked in we pushed our way to the front where they were...and whew! They had seats for all of us! 

This wasn't a normal concert...its called an Acoustic Doghouse show...so just Jerrod Niemann and his guitar...and very informal! I did get his cd when out shopping, so I'd listened to most of it on the way to the park and ride to meet the girls...he is WICKED funny!!!! He does an intro to most of the songs and they were cracking me up! And to see him live, he's just as funny!! Very off the cuff and witty! I didn't know before, but he'd written a little diddy with Garth Brooks, and sang it for us...and one with Lee Brice that Blake sings...so we heard that one too!  Afterwards we got in the very long line for pictures with him...he wasn't signing anything as he had pre-signed a bunch of pix...and the radio station was handing them out...and the pix were to be done in pairs or groups...so my g/f Pearl, who took me as her guest, and I got our pic with him...she was holding a couple pix and he asked if she wanted him to sign them...so I quick grab my cd insert and had him sign it. The peeps from the radio were getting annoyed with us, but Jerrod told them "I promised them on the internet I'd sign for them" which was bogus, but they backed off.  The other girls got their pix too and then we all went and got in line again to get one of all of us with him. They almost wouldn't let us til we begged! Then we hung around even more so Amber, future song writer, could chat with him...and finally she got her turn. He musta talked with her for 15 minutes! SO cool of him to do that! Then they rushed him off and we were left in the cold...literally! lol We waited for Ashley's ride to come get her and then we all went our separate ways. I took Stephanie home and Pearl took Cindy...one way or another we all made it home safe and sound!

Lesson Learned!!!

This morning was a wet wake up call!!! Thankfully not my bed!!! But Sam woke up shortly after 7 and was whimpering at my bed side that she needed to pee...and her jammies were SOAKED!!! So into my bathroom we went and I took the jams off and put them aside...as I took her diaper off, a puddle of pee fell to the floor...

Lesson:  A swim diaper will NOT be a good substitute for a night time diaper!! *shakes head* nope, it won't!! Just awful and the exact opposite really!! My poor girl!!

I got her cleaned up and into new jammies and she said she wanted to sleep with me in my bed, so we got snuggled in good...DJ too...and they both fell back to sleep!! I was in utter shock when DJ woke up at 9:37!! Sam was already up and watching tv. She'd had enough apparently! And she's a sneaky quiet one! I was literally floored that he slept that long! I feel like day light savings finally worked for me!! LOL

We ate breakfast and then they got dressed...DJ headed out next door and that me and SamSam on our own....oh and Dora. I got the grocery list ready to go, but was feeling out of sorts with all that extra sleep, so I got busy doing laundry...especially since Sam's bedding now needed cleaning thanks to the peesplosion!! (remember: swim diaper is NOT a regular diaper! ) And then while I was at it, got the dishes loaded up and going...and cleaned the counters...I wasn't suffering from ADD today! 

Next thing I know, DJ's in the house telling me that he was sent home by Mrs Erickson for something he'd said....once I got him calmed down and talking normally I asked what he said and with the straightest face he looks at me and says "Kiss my ass" (does he not know that words to THAT song are "Kiss my country ass")   Yeah....not kool to hear out of a 4 year old's mouth! I asked him where he learned it and he said the wii game that was playing next door...even described the game...so I call over and am reassured that the game does NOT say those words. So we chat about how its not appropriate for him to say and if I hear it again there will be soap involved. He understood and headed back over...and Sam started begging to go too...I was still on the phone, and Mrs E said she could go...I got the biggest hug then! So sweet!

Ummm that meant I had no kids!!! Really...NO kids!!!! And no need to shower since it had only been 14 hours since my last one....already had the dishes done...and laundry going...it felt odd to be at loose ends like that! Was about to go walk on the treadmill, but I saw the boys out on the back deck...and I was getting hungry as it was 2 and we hadn't had lunch. My two and K came over to play...but we had a lunch of cheese and crackers and clementines....yum! Then all 3 of them went to Sam's room to play...I heard screaming at one point and went to investigate...K was "scaring" Sam with the penguin mask and she was fake screaming (which sounds like real screaming but there's a smile involved in the fake screams) and they were having fun.

A little while later K came out and asked if the three of them could go back to his house to play...um, okay! I watched the 3 of them run over next door...Samantha feeling like one of the big kids I'm sure! While they were once again gone, I got busy on making dinner...tonite was an Awana nite and we needed to eat early. As soon as Howie was in the door, I got the noodles on. I did have to call over and the kids sent home for dinner...but they came quickly. And ate somewhat well...as soon as I got done I went and got ready to leave.
Awana was good...I only messed up one name!! Not too shabby!!! And the nite just flew by and before I knew it, it was time to pick DJ up. We stopped at Freddy's on the way home to pick up real diapers!!! I even got Princess pull ups for SamSam...she'll freak in the morning when she sees it...she went to bed with nothing on since there was nothing to put on her (remember: swim diapers are NOT an acceptable replacement!!) and she did good for the half hour or so between her going to bed and me putting one on her in her sleep. Howie was already in bed when we got home, so I got DJ ready for bed and tucked him in. Then sat down to veg. I didn't even have it in me to knit! And if you check the time on this post, its WAY earlier than most...cuz I'm heading to bed now! Not later! :)

I think its safe to say

Miss Samantha is potty trained!!! Other than nites, which will come with time, she's fully grasped the whole peeing AND pooping on the toilet!!! Yes, she was a master pooper today!! Or would that be a champion pooper?? In any case, she pooped SIX (6) times on the potty over the course of the day! I kid you not!! Its still pellets, but take seconds rather than an hour in the diaper! She's so darn proud of herself for this accomplishment too!! Its humourous to watch her! Her signs to "go" are much different than DJ's...she will stop what she's doing and cross her legs...much more girly and dainty than dancing-holding-himself DJ!!

This morning before breakfast I got Sam out of her diaper, which was only 3 lbs instead of 5, and then fed them. As soon as they were done eating, they both got nekkid and were running around like crazy kids! Don't they know its winter!?!?!? And freakin COLD outside!??!!? Geez they take after their mother!!!! LOL I corralled them up and got them dressed. At which point DJ asked to go next door...so I said yes "after you put socks, boots, a coat and a hat on"  He musta stopped listening to me at boots...he came up the back stairs a few minutes later and had just his pants and a t-shirt on! Seriously!!! Good thing he's hardwired with a great internal thermostat!

Since they weren't ready for his energy yet, he came home and played very well with Sam...a couple times I had to go in search of them since they were so quiet...and they were just playing nicely! What a change!! What a novelty!! I quiet enjoyed it! After lunch tho, he saw the boys outside and got dressed up properly after a stern talking to and headed out to play. Sam and I snuggled and watched some Dora...I swear, she knows more Spanish than me now!! It is cool to hear her repeat the words and answer the questions.

Howie came home as I was suffering ADD...I'd start a task, get distracted by Sam and her pottying needs, and start another task that I thought of while in the bathroom with her....then I'd sit down for a few, and realize I didn't actually complete anything!! Get up and start over again!! It took me 3 tries to get the dishwasher unloaded! Good thing Howie bbq'd dinner so I couldn't walk away while they were cooking! HA!

After dinner, which was fabulously yummy, and a dessert of sugar free cheesecake, I went and grabbed a shower while the kids played. I came out to pajama clad kids and flossed and brushed their teeth before tucking them in. Football was on, so I sat down in my chair and promptly fell asleep! Um yeah...took a half hour nap at least...and it was kinda nice! I woke up as the game was over and Howie was going to bed. I settled in with my knitting and watched Parenthood and Castle from last nite.

One more day

To the weekend kinda throws me off a bit!! But it was a nice change!! The kids got up normally and we got to the breakfast thing before we heard from Howie, who wasn't have much luck in the fish dept...said he wanted to check out another place for fishing...little did I know that was code for "I'm gonna try another place" lol It was just before noon when he rolled in! We were just getting lunch ready to go....so we all ate together.

I had to eat and run as today was book day at the shed, and I'd already gotten word the books were already picked up yesterday, so I needed to hustle buns! It was good to go by myself and just work! There were 14 boxes today...and thankfully I only found 2 books for myself! Some days, I'm not so lucky...in that I bring a half dozen home! So, two is okay! And one of them isn't for me..so that's even better!

I also enjoyed listening to my podcast while working away...my new ear buds from Avon are freakin awesome!! They're the in-the-ear kind...they look like a small mushroom and go right in the ear. No one else can hear my music...the only downside...I can hear myself singing along...lol  I remember the days of sitting in the back seat with my walkman singing along...sorry mom and dad!!! Yet, I can't wait for that with my kids!

Once the books were loaded up I headed into town...drove thru the bank, dropped off some stuff to the consignment shop, then St Vincent de Paul and the library and finally home. DJ was outside playing when I got home, and Sam was inside watching Caillou with Howie. I got busy right away making chili for dinner...its always better if it gets to sit and marinate! While it was doing its thing I got busy on the computer looking up school info. One of my online mommy friends was already talking about registering her soon-to-be 5 year old for kindergarten...and it got me thinking about what we're doing for DJ. We're not in a good school district, so we'll be trekking him somewhere! And then, do I want 5 days a week or 3....sheesh! Is it worth it for us to get the after school care so that Howie can pick him up on his way home from work and I'm not doing extra miles to go back into town to get him....decisions, decisions!!!  I think registering for the school we want him in starts in Feb...that's not that far away!! YIKES!!!

After dinner I bathed the kids...Samantha actually wanted a bubble bath, so bubbles she got!! Oh she enjoyed them thoroughly!!! She's doing so fantastic with the potty training too!! Amazing! Now, if only her body would clue in to waking up in the middle of the nite instead of filling that diaper full! Guess I'll still be buying diapers for a while...darn it! They both went to bed easily....DJ was almost asleep when I came in to tuck him in....the fresh air today wore him out.

Tonite was the start of the new Bachelor season...or is it re-season...OR the Brad the Sequel!! I really do hope he's really in it this time!! Did you see there were 3 girls from WA on this time!??! And if I'm not mistaken all 3 made it thru the first cut! One of them is even from a neighbouring town!! Where costco is! How wild would that be to have it get to the home town dates and it was already here in WA without any fuss/muss!!! hmmmm lol Oh, and the chick with the fangs....PUHLEEZE!!!!!! Seriously!?!?! If those are her real teeth, she's got issues! If they're caps, ok kool, take 'em off now, you've made your impression! oy!

Tales of the Travelling Pants

This morning was a brutal wake up....for Howie...as I elbowed him in the back trying to make room in my sleep...so that technically makes me innocent right?? I was dreaming something and was trying to elbow way somewhere...and the truth is, our bed was crowded and I didn't know it I started elbowing my way out...but Howie left and I had two wrigglers who refused to go back to sleep..granted it was 7:30 and who knows how long they were in bed with us. They finally left about 8 and I got another hour...but it wasn't solid by any means...in fact, the last 20 minutes were the best of it!

I got up and showered right away and got ready for church...then dressed the kids and ate breakfast while Howie showered. Then we were off! Surprisingly we made it there on time! I thought for sure we'd be late! Samantha went off to her class and the 3 of us went into the sanctuary. It was after the 1st song that DJ had a bit of a meltdown and Howie had to drag him out while he's saying "no daddy, I'll be good!" and wouldn't ya know it, my phone starts ringing...talk about timing!! I MUST REMEMBER TO SILENCE IT FOR CHURCH!!!!! Honestly!!

DJ came back and was an absolute dream!! Not sure what was said/promised, but he behaved like an angel!! A clingy one, but hey he was quiet and sitting nicely! After service we stopped to talk to Pastor Dan...it seems the boys next door have been talking to DJ about heaven, and he wanted answers, so I told him he could ask Pastor Dan after service....so we waited our turn and DJ talked to him. Pastor Dan said for DJ to write a letter with any questions he has and that he would write back with answers for DJ. It was touching!

We came home and had lunch....I called my church ringer...it was a new Avon client who was hoping to meet up with me for their order. Set up a  meeting time with them for 2 and got myself ready to go. So, 2 pm is far too late on a Sunday to get started my Avoning....plus I had other errands to run in between....it was a long day! I did get to see Ben and Michael tho...took back 3 skeins of yarn to Ben since Michael had it on sale for half price...yeah, can't beat that! I took back the 3, got 5 AND a new set of needles for the same price! Not too shabby!!! Love me a bargain. And I swear, clocks speed up whenever I'm in a craft store....I honestly don't know how 45 mins can only feel like 5!!! Honestly!!

I did finally get home just before 8...ate my dinner that was waiting in the micro and shared with the kids even...who'd eaten 2 hours before...."but I'm still HUNGRY" is what I heard. They were already in pajamas, so when I was done eating I got them flossed and brushed and into bed. While I was doing the tucking, Howie left to return the movie he watched last nite as we'd forgotten it this morning and I'd forgotten it this aft when I left. Then he watched tv while I cleaned up the kitchen and got his lunch ready....his lunch for TUESDAY as he has tomorrow off because of the holiday. I think he had to remind 5 times that he wasn't working....and as I'm getting his lunch ready it finally dawned on me for real! Yeah, long day!

Once he went to bed I got cozy in my chair and pushed play on Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters...then because it was only 11, I watched Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2...one I hadn't seen yet....I've read the book, so it was good to see the movie. I even completed the hat I started the other nite...its too big for me but makes me laugh!!

If today is any indication

Of how this year will be....damn, its gonna be a productive one!!!! 

I had the pleasure of waking up with kids this morning...and dang it, they were both up before 8...don't they know that they went to bed late last nite and were supposed to sleep in!!!!?!?!?! I musta forgot to send out that memo...my bad!

Howie got home from fishing just after 9 and was fishless again....darn it!! So he crashed for a nap and I got the kids. After breakfast (well before really) I put Despicable Me on as I knew it would be going back in the morning at some point. We all 3 snuggled on the couch to watch it. It really is funny!!! And that theme song is sure catchy!! Been singing it all day!!

I really have no clue what time Howie got up, before noon, that much I know! We all did lunch and then got busy busy busy!!! The task of the day was to change out tables! Howie's dad gifted us his dining table...seats 10 (12 if we push it) when both leaves are in...and its SOLID!!! With no ironing marks or kid marks on them!! New to me, not Howie...I was telling him that tonite's dinner was the 3rd time I've ever eaten at that table!

After our old table was dismantled, I got busy sweeping and then mopping with my new Steam Mop...HOW have I lived so long without one!??!!? Seriously!!! This thing is the bomb!!! So easy...so light...SO easy!! And the floors feel amazing!! Seeing that pad tho was kinda gross! Just saying...I did them 3 times just to get it done right! Even did my bathroom floor! It was that easy!! Kept thinking about what my mom said after she got hers "the only thing wrong with it, is that it doesn't work on its own"

Then we brought up the new table and got to work putting it together...and since I was in this cleaning mode, washed it down completely....YUCK!! lol Just the bottom half of the table was yellowed from smoke, and same for the chairs, I even did our own chairs...we kept two of the old ones for the kids to use. And that way we have 6 chairs up here at all times...kind of novel! Once up off the floor, I got busy unChristmasing the tree...I somehow tricked the kids into thinking it would be a fun thing to do...so they helped for the bottom half of the tree. And helped is very loosely used here! The lights were a chore to get off! Sheesh!! I can see where a pre-lit fake tree would come in handy...but even today, more than 4 weeks since we bought it, it smelled GREAT!!!

Hindsight would suggest we would have done the tree right after taking the old table out...as in the end, I did create more work for myself...OY! As soon as the tree was gone, the sweeping started and led to vacuuming! Since it was already after 5 at this point, I only did the living room instead of everywhere. The furniture got put back to normal and Samantha started rolling around all over the floor...we think she missed her space! lol

After dinner I bathed the kids....Miss Samantha hit another potty training milestone! So far, that's ZERO accidents and now, a poop on the potty! She'd been running every 5 mins thinking she needed to potty, but all she'd do is toot...so I started telling her she can go poop on the toilet (surprisingly she wasn't asking for a diaper) and trying to distract her while sitting there so her body would take over. 3 times she had me get her out of the bath to toot on the toilet...and the 4 th time I was saying no, but she was persistent so I lifted her out, dried her a bit and put her on the toilet...and SHE POOPED!!!! She was so proud of herself!! I was so excited for her! It was awesome!! And today, was all done in ONE pair of panties!!! YAY!!!!!

As soon as I finished tucking DJ in I ran to town to return the movie we rented last nite...as it had to be back by 9...so off I went. I stopped at the shed on the way home and got lots of veggies and milk from the run that came in today! I came in from that and was unloading when Howie said my g/f Jackie was going to play Bingo instead of doing the bar thing for her birthday...so I asked where and what time...and darn it if I could make it! So I went and changed shirts, fixed my hair and headed out!!

What fun!! Of the 16 of us, we had two winners! They both won 10.00 which was what it cost to play! Not bad! I was SOOOOOO close for a couple games...just sitting there waiting for ONE freakin number!! One of the games I needed I-19 and just to torture me, he called I-18 and then a few later he called I-20...after the bingo was called...my number came up on the screen!! DANG IT!!! There was even one jackpot for 25,500....do you know what I could do with that kind of money!!?!?!?! Oh the possibilities....no one won it! Whew! If it can't be me, it shouldn't be anyone in the room with me! :D

I'm having a bad bad day, its about time that I get my way, steam rolling whatever I see...huh, Despicable me!
I'm having a bad bad day, if you take it personal, that's okay, watch, this is so fun to see...huh, Despicable me!

I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song today...and on purpose!!! So many peeps on fb have been talking about this movie and posting song clips and movie clips from it...so today when the kids and I were out I tried renting it...yeah, its not available til next Tuesday...argh!!! Then I tried getting Inception...and its not available til the 11th....ARGH!!!!!! lol

In fact that song is now gonna be my anthem for 2011!!! Oh yeah...watch, this is so fun to see!! :D

This morning I was supposed to get to sleep in...but it didn't quite work out that way...Sam came to us first and climbed in on Howie's side...then DJ joined us on my side...and Howie left...I tried getting both kids to go with him, but no go...there were almost tears too...mine!!! So I told them if they wanted to stay with me they had to lay still and no talking...Sam lasted 5 minutes...DJ lasted a bit longer before hunger drove him out. So sleeping in didn't quite happen the way I wanted it to!

Howie left for work and I got SamSam out of her diaper...just as I mention that its time to go in panties, she runs away to poop before it comes off...rascal!! She did fight me a bit when I changed her...but went into the undies just fine. And the whole day was AWESOME!!! No extra fluids, and no timers (not since that very first day really) and I'd just ask her if she needed to, or she'd tell me she needed to...and 9 out of 10 times, she really peed!! SO proud of my little big girl!!!! To those who say girls are easier than boys...I laugh in your face!!!! With boys you can direct the flow...girls, its all over the place depending on how she sits!!! So, no, not really easier!! Both my kids "got it" on that first day...so no complaints here!!

Then came the Avon delivery...and leaving the house....so I made her go pee before we put the coats on...and she did!! I'm pretty sure she really missed her diaper when it came time to sit in the car seat...that mother was COLD!!!!! Her little tush is not used to such cold surfaces!! Off we went tho and did our running around. Once the two deliveries were done, we headed to Freddy's for a movie...and to see what's on clearance Before we did that tho, I asked her if she needed to pee and she said yes, so we stopped there first, and she did!! Their behaviour was AWFUL while I was looking at clothes...I'll have to go alone some day soon! Saw some cute shirts!

No movies at Freddy's so we headed to Albertsons to see which ones those Redboxes had...and I got the Expendables and Grown Ups...something for Howie, and something for me! Stopped at the shed to see if some pizza was there for dinner...grabbed one, and headed home. As soon as we were upstairs I got Miss SamSam on the potty...she didn't need to go tho, so that's okay! No wet car seats is awesome!!! No accidents are awesome!!

After dinner the kids and I watched tv while slowing getting pj's on....we were quite late! As we're getting set up to brush teeth, my neighbour Mike came over with their rented copy of Despicable Me!! SWEET!!!! So once teeth were done, we put it in and got comfy to watch it. Howie came home about 15 mins into it and watched it with us...definitely one we want to own! And I want a few minions!! LOL  It was well after 10 by the time they were tucked into bed and instantly fell asleep! So I gave Howie the choice of movie to watch and he chose Grown Ups...he said he was in the mood to laugh....and laugh we DID!!! Funny movie!!! The pairing of Adam Sandler and Kevin James is just hilarious!!! Good movie!!! We did pause it tho to watch the last minute of the Space Needle countdown to ring in 2011....and then back to the movie! As soon as it was done he was off to bed. Now, it's my turn!!!
