But today we all spent it together....delivering Avon!! I had a chauffeur and two tag alongs today! It was nice not to do all the driving by myself, and I had one new place to deliver to...so that was helpful.
The main reason we were all spending the day together was for a Sip n See for my g/f Wyndi's new babe, Nola Kate. She's 4 and a half weeks old now and instead of doing a shower they did a "come meet the baby" party! What fun too!!
My Avon didn't take nearly as long as normal as I had very few deliveries! We left the house shortly after 11 and got to the Sip N See at 1:30 when it started! Usually Avon day takes me 4 or 5 hours!!! Maybe I oughta have Howie drive me more often as it goes quicker! Yeah, I'm sure he'd love that!! lol
Since we were pretty much second to arrive I got to help out in the kitchen...which didn't take much effort really and I'm glad to pitch in. Wyndi had 4 or 5 different kinds of lemonade on the go! There was 6 or 7 different cheeses, crackers, chips, guacamole, hummus, veggies, massive fruit salad, cookies galore and cupcakes. Perfect!! The kids got busy playing right as soon as we got in the house. They hadn't seen Izzy in a LONG time!
Around 3 we took off so SamSam could get some semblance of a nap...HA! We had one more stop on the way home to Morgin's house to pick up a tomato stake and some pea stakes for the garden. Joanne isn't gardening this year, so she loaned them to me! Most helpful!! I can't believe my tomato will get that big tho...man!! It was close to 4 by the time Sam dozed off...and we were just about half way home. brat! At least she got some kind of nap!
We got home in plenty of time for the hockey game!! While the first period was playing Howie and I set up the picnic table for DJ. Or should I say WITH DJ...he tried desperately to help! By the mid point he'd been banned to the chair or couch to watch! We did it tho!! And its definitely a two person set up job! Howie might disagree with me as he's a guy and could have done it all by himself WITHOUT the help of two children and their roaming hands!
I almost caved and let them eat their dinner at the table, but it wasn't really that type of dinner. Ravioli and salad with garlic bread....and to boot: something the kids had never had. So I didn't want that fight with him at another table! Tomorrow we'll invite the neighbours over for some cake at the table. Its supposed to be nice out, so he can use it outside for the first time! He sure loves it tho!! Its currently in the middle of the living room...he sat there and watched tv sitting on it. What a nut!
I know I owe pictures from the party...and they're coming...with not being home I haven't had a chance to even upload them! Soon...I promise!!

Party Pooped!!!!
Boy, this partying is exhausting!!!
Thank you Lord, we had SUNSHINE from the beginning of the day all the way thru!!!! Oh it was glorious!!!! And to top it all off, I got to sleep in til 9 again! I truly do love my husband! Not too many moms can brag like I do in regards to sleep!
As soon as we were done breakfast and generally pretending we didn't have a houseful of guests coming over....we got down to business!!
First order was the yard...which was Howie's domain. Mine was all indoor. It was slightly manic in the house today! Thankfully, again, the sun was shining and DJ was outside playing his heart out!! It feels like the first time in months that he's been able to do that! And Samantha kept me company thru all the cleaning. She's actually a really good helper when its just her...and when her mood fits! Today, it fit!
After lunch DJ got changed into his new Buzz Lightyear shirt we got last week at Target...he was so excited he got to finally wear it!! The first kids showed up shortly after 2...and they had SUCH a long way to come...across the backyard that is! :) I got the kids started with making doorknob/picture frames with foam stickers. K sat there the longest just decorating his. SamSam really enjoyed it too. DJ put two stickers on his and called it good. I have a feeling he's not so crafty...lol He'll still be taught how to knit tho...mark my words!
Then we headed outside to play croquet....we borrowed a set from my sister-in-law. DJ played it a couple weeks ago at a park play date and loved it! He did today too...'cept Howie made the course miserable!! Using our hilly area against us instead of for us! I played with Michaela and it was LONG!!!! We gave up at the mid point!! Sheesh!!
That's okay, I had scored some flower box kits from Lowes when we were there last....so I got the kids started on making those. Lots of banging and noise...but they sure did enjoy it. I had some left over dirt and bought a pack of echinacea seeds....they have a pretty purple flower. Still have some left, so may sow the seeds somewhere.
Once they were done making, DJ got down to ripping!! Paper that is! He was loving all the gifts!! He got lots of boring clothes from us...but in each one I put a Cars character in it...he was LOVING that part!! Then, totally a fluke, someone else got him a Cars character too!! And a racing car hotwheels to go with it! He also got a set of two squirt guns...they look deadly!! lol Then he got a new Cars plate, bowl and cup set...which he didn't know was to go with his picnic table he got.
We had fun visiting with all the moms and the one dad that came...and Howie's dad showed up during all the hammering. Just before 6 everyone left and in came Howie's sister and her fam. Jake and Morgin had arrived somewhere in between.

After dinner DJ got to open the rest of his gifts. I'd saved 3 of ours for with family...so he opened those first....and then the cards, which he got 10.00 in...he liked that!! Then he sat on my lap and I covered his eyes while Howie brought out the picnic table...he got the one without the umbrella. At first he was confused and didn't understand that the big box was for him. It was cute! Then he caught on and saw the big picture on the side of the box.
Then we did it all again and he sat down....I covered his eyes....and he waited semi-patiently while Howie brought out his bike and set it down in front of him. Then I let my hands go and he jumped! He was up looking at it right away!!! He almost wouldn't sit on it without a helmet. Glad we had that area covered...Howie went and got it from the closet and we put it on his head. Then Jake took him outside to show him how to ride it. He truly had no clue!!! Its so funny to watch, especially knowing that by the end of the summer, he'll be a pro!! After about 5 minutes he was done. So we came back inside and did cake and singing.
Shortly after 8 everyone left and we got down to wrangling with two very tired children! Sam had no nap, again, so she was wiped and punchy. DJ was just fresh air tired! They both went to sleep rather quickly!!
Howie joined the slumbering part and I watched Juno...what a strange movie. From the music to the metaphors to the clothes. Just odd! It was touching tho...the very end had me shedding some tears.
Now, I simply must send myself to bed!! G'nite!

Birthday Parties
I'm planning one....and attended one tonite!! Whew!!
Today was Bee to the US to the WHY!!! (can ya figure that one out?)
I did get to sleep in which is LOVELY! And then boom, start the day! Once we sent Howie on his way to work I got started getting myself out the door to go grocery shopping! It was close to 11 by the time we finally got in the truck to leave. Dogs were going every which way and they weren't fed, so I had to stand there and monitor the food intake so that Snickers eats Snickers' food, and Bailey only eats Bailey's food...she's a food hog! She'd eat all day if we let her!!
We did a lunch at Costco...and I love how DJ says Churr...Churrio...so cute! Then we hit up Fred Meyer and the kids were thrilled to be in Playland!!! As was I!!! I got paged half way thru my shopping for a diaper change....which I didn't have with me, so I headed to the diaper aisle to get a box and some wipes. Oy! It was on my list, but I'd forgotten my coupons, so I was going to wait til Monday....so much for that plan!
After Freddy's we went to Safeway and finished up what was on the list. Then the dollar store...then Grocery Outlet....then the post office...then the gas station for Howie's horrible addiction...then FINALLY home!! Somewhere between the post office and the gas station both kids fell asleep. Ummmm right before 4 pm!!! The time Samantha would normally bet getting up! When we got home I got right to work unloading everything in the pouring rain. Just as I was finishing up they both woke up. Cranky as all get out too!! Boy, that was fun!!
We had a snack of hummus and chips while I made pasta salad for a pot luck tonite....and then I bathed the kids. I knew I'd be too rushed to do it after dinner, so I did it before!! Worked out well and they thought it was neat to eat dinner in their pj's! As I was getting ready to head out Michaela came over to babysit...oh the kids were SO excited for me to leave!! lol Gotta love it!
I grabbed the card and the pasta salad and headed into town to meet Howie. We've never frequented the tavern we went to, but the birthday boy's brother owns it...hence it being there. Must have been about 50 people too! The birthday boy is a co-worker of Howie's and they live in Monroe too...so it was kool we could actually attend! We had fun yakkin with other Pro Club people. About 10:30 we headed for home to get Michaela home. She had no complaints! AND she made the blueberry muffins for DJ's party tomorrow! How awesome is that!?!?!? She LOVES baking and once the kids were in bed it would be perfect timing. I totally enjoyed coming home to a warm-smells-yummy house!! I might have to do that more often!
Samantha woke up with our commotion and was wanting to rock in the chair...took a bit to calm her down and get her back to sleeping mode. Finally she crashed. I've done some tidying up, but there's still so much to do!!! We'll be B U S Y tomorrow morning before the party!! Here's hoping I can grab a shower too beforehand!!

What is that bright orb in the sky??
Why, it's the sun!!! We woke up to SUNSHINE!!!!!!!
And then I really woke up to Bailey whining...which got me out of bed quicker than anything a I don't want pee on the carpets!! Turns out she wasn't whining to go potty....she was whining that DJ and Snickers were playing fetch.
Yes, my son, in his Lightning McQueen pj's was out on the back deck throwing the ball for Snickers who was barking madly for him to throw the ball NOW!
And it wasn't even 8 am....
I should have just gone back to bed at that point...really!
The disobedience got worse as the morning went on....the garage...again....outside....again....I swear I'm talking to a brick wall sometimes! His Evanoff is shining thru and it needs to stop! Its not funny or cute!!!
The panic of the day...I get a message from Howie saying we're OUT of propane....HUH!?!?! This is NOT good! So I put in a call to our propane providers and wait for them to call back. He did within the hour....and could get to us today but it would cost 120.00 for him to re-route a truck to come to me. And the next time he's in our area is Monday! MONDAY!!!!! I can't go that long without hot water!!!!! So I tell him that I'll need to call my husband and discuss it with him. We currently have a nice credit with them that would more than cover a fill up since I've been making monthly payments in advance. Smart eh?
So I call Howie to tell him the bad news...and he says to go down to the water heater and check it. Sure enough little fingers (probably SamSam's as she likes buttons) ad turned the water heater into vacation mode. As soon as I put it on hot it fired right up and we had hot water within an hour. What a start! I called the guy back and put us on the list for Monday! Whew!
After lunch I took the kids to the shed to check what the day brought in food wise...and I scored!! Got DJ's birthday cake and he's thrilled!!! Also got some fruit and veggies as well as other goodies. Even got more pitas so I can make pita chips. All in all, I did well! I'm gonna like this pattern.
We got home and Sam went right down for her nap...she was starting to fade in the truck when we pulled in. As I went downstairs to put the cake in the fridge I noticed an unfamiliar smell....so I investigate when I come back in....the kids had gotten into the solid silver polish. UGH!!!! It was everywhere!!! I put the gate up to keep animals out and put the vacuum over it...started cleaning up the toys and realized it was DJ's job...not mine! I turn to hop over the gate and NAIL my knee square on with the corner sticking out. INSTANT pain!!! I couldn't even look! Now, I was furious...called DJ in and he got right to work cleaning up while I followed him with the vacuum all the while wincing in pain.
Once back upstairs and DJ's back outside I pull my pant leg up and check out my knee. The top part of my knee cap is the size of a lemon....and there's broken skin where the actual corner connected with my body. OUCH!!! Its still kind of throbbing now, 8 hours later!!
Once the kids were in bed I gave Howie a hair cut and then went and took a shower. Once he went to bed I watched So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD from here on out) and marveled at some who had obvious talent and shook my head at the wonderment of others who obviously don't have friends who tell them the truth! ha! Then a new season of Royal Pains started tonite on USA...LOVE this show!! If you haven't caught it...try to! Thursday nites at 10 pm!
Now, off to bed I go...the sheets got changed thanks to a certain cat who was being mean! She got my pillows too...here's hoping I can sleep okay without my satin pillow case...or my pillows! I swear, the next time she thinks about going outside, I'm not going to stop her...or call her back!! This has GOT to stop!! grrrrrrrrrr

Losing It
With Jillian Michaels....have you seen it yet?? It was on last nite and they did a repeat of it tonite. Since I wasn't home last nite to watch it and forgot to dvr I was quite happy to see it repeated tonite. Since it was on at 8 we just hit record as I knew we'd be busy with the whole bed time routine....not to mention hockey.
Today could have been a good day...but for whatever reason my children decided it was going to be a "Drive Mummy Batty" day...they succeeded!! Man!
I think Samantha is trying to tell me she hates her height...she's CONSTANTLY getting the stool from the bathroom or the can of dog food that is in the pantry and using it as a stool....and then climbing up to get things off the counter that she KNOWS she shouldn't be getting.
Case in point....I'd bathed her first and was busy washing DJ up while she had free reign of the house...I come out and she's got the dog food can out and up against the cupboards where the lazy susan is. I then come past that wall that separates the living room from the kitchen and she's got two wipes trying to clean up something brown on the floor. Immediately I think to myself, "This is NOT good" She stands up, grabs the two wipes knowing she's NOT supposed to have them, and says in her two-year-old garble "garbage" and throws them out. It was then I noticed the empty vanilla bottle on the floor. *I keep ours in a squeeze bottle on the counter, which is perfect for getting at those bruises instantly* And then I see the contents of the bottle ALL over the floor!!! She looks at me and says "mess!" like I wasn't sure what I was seeing.
Around 11:30 I decided to do a work out using On Demand....the kids both start off doing it with me and peter out. I get down to do push ups and Bailey thinks I'm in "puppy stance" and wanting to rough house with her...she nailed me!!! Even at her young age she's heavy!! Not my idea of fun! I forge on and keep working out telling her to go lay down. I'm more than half way done and getting a good cardio workout going and I look over at DJ who's in the dining room and he's STANDING ON THE TABLE playing with the chandelier. I couldn't hit pause fast enough!
It was like they were both out to get me today!! I caught them both outside on the deck fooling around...while I'm in the kitchen getting food ready...they were in the bathroom playing when they know they shouldn't be...oh it was insane!! I'm surprised I still have a voice!
To top it all off, Howie was going to be super late....he had to get our flat tire fixed if possible. There was a screw in it from the weekend at some point. The joys of country living. At least Les Schwab didn't charge to fix it...but because the tire is so worn they couldn't legally put it on the car....which is fine, the spare tire is a real tire....so it can wait til Howie gets round to it. But the discussions of new tires for both vehicles has started. Lovely!
So, once everyone was in bed I pulled out DJ's gifts that I've been stashing for a while and took inventory and organized it. I didn't get any boxes down so I didn't start wrapping. I did get the goody bags done up for the kids who are coming. DJ's SO excited for this!! We've been counting down sleeps for a while now, but it seriously seems like just last week I was telling him that it was still 24 days away...here we are 5 days away!! That's just crazy!
Now, I'm heading to bed...I'm just about done the book I'm reading, so I'd better get the next one "ordered" in the library website...OR pick out Dear John and read it....decisions.....lol

Today could have been a good day...but for whatever reason my children decided it was going to be a "Drive Mummy Batty" day...they succeeded!! Man!
I think Samantha is trying to tell me she hates her height...she's CONSTANTLY getting the stool from the bathroom or the can of dog food that is in the pantry and using it as a stool....and then climbing up to get things off the counter that she KNOWS she shouldn't be getting.
Case in point....I'd bathed her first and was busy washing DJ up while she had free reign of the house...I come out and she's got the dog food can out and up against the cupboards where the lazy susan is. I then come past that wall that separates the living room from the kitchen and she's got two wipes trying to clean up something brown on the floor. Immediately I think to myself, "This is NOT good" She stands up, grabs the two wipes knowing she's NOT supposed to have them, and says in her two-year-old garble "garbage" and throws them out. It was then I noticed the empty vanilla bottle on the floor. *I keep ours in a squeeze bottle on the counter, which is perfect for getting at those bruises instantly* And then I see the contents of the bottle ALL over the floor!!! She looks at me and says "mess!" like I wasn't sure what I was seeing.
Around 11:30 I decided to do a work out using On Demand....the kids both start off doing it with me and peter out. I get down to do push ups and Bailey thinks I'm in "puppy stance" and wanting to rough house with her...she nailed me!!! Even at her young age she's heavy!! Not my idea of fun! I forge on and keep working out telling her to go lay down. I'm more than half way done and getting a good cardio workout going and I look over at DJ who's in the dining room and he's STANDING ON THE TABLE playing with the chandelier. I couldn't hit pause fast enough!
It was like they were both out to get me today!! I caught them both outside on the deck fooling around...while I'm in the kitchen getting food ready...they were in the bathroom playing when they know they shouldn't be...oh it was insane!! I'm surprised I still have a voice!
To top it all off, Howie was going to be super late....he had to get our flat tire fixed if possible. There was a screw in it from the weekend at some point. The joys of country living. At least Les Schwab didn't charge to fix it...but because the tire is so worn they couldn't legally put it on the car....which is fine, the spare tire is a real tire....so it can wait til Howie gets round to it. But the discussions of new tires for both vehicles has started. Lovely!
So, once everyone was in bed I pulled out DJ's gifts that I've been stashing for a while and took inventory and organized it. I didn't get any boxes down so I didn't start wrapping. I did get the goody bags done up for the kids who are coming. DJ's SO excited for this!! We've been counting down sleeps for a while now, but it seriously seems like just last week I was telling him that it was still 24 days away...here we are 5 days away!! That's just crazy!
Now, I'm heading to bed...I'm just about done the book I'm reading, so I'd better get the next one "ordered" in the library website...OR pick out Dear John and read it....decisions.....lol

Twosday
Oh she's really fully and wonderfully IN her twos now!!! This morning, nay, last nite, when I went in to check on her she was sleeping naked....and this morning when I went to get her out of bed she was still naked. I really do think her favourite thing to say is "I do it!!!" and be all stubborn like. Quite infuriating sometimes!!!
Oh....and how's this for a Dose of Gross:
She's figured out how to take her diaper off by herself, and this morning was no different. DJ was in the bathroom on the toilet and she came running out here bare bummed so I chase her back to the chair in the living room to put a fresh one on her and then go in search of the dirty one. It was in the bathroom on the floor. She'd done a poop and wanted it off....and left it on the floor. By the toilet. Where Bailey was eating it. Yes, I just threw up in my mouth too just typing it out. And trust me, I wanted to throw up then as well. Quite vulgar really! BLECH
Thankfully I didn't have to deal with any dog puke like I thought I would...ugh!!
The morning went quickly as I was also putting my Avon order in. Sadly, to date, this was my weakest campaign....*sigh* I guess I have to have down ones every now and then...just gotta work on getting more customers.
I also did Jillian's workout again before lunch....and it didn't hurt near as bad as it did Friday. I could feel the "burn" in all the muscles she was working...and since doing the Biggest Loser ones I know how to modify some of the exercises....so it was all good.
After lunch Sam took her nap and DJ and I laid on the couch and read books til he discovered K was outside and took off running!!! With him out of the house I grabbed a shower as I had an Avon meeting tonite in Lynnwood. It was a good meeting too! Rather large as we had our district managers join us...usually we have 6-8 people and tonite we must have had 20 or so! It was informative too!! All about the new products coming out over the summer...which is always exciting!!
After the meeting I went in search of a gift from my FIL to DJ for his birthday...I was given the go ahead to get it for the party...but I don't think that's gonna happen now. I want to get him a picnic table for outside so he and Sam can eat their lunch properly on the deck....but the stores don't carry the one I want, its online only...and it won't get here in time. So, I may have Dad just give DJ the money and he can "help" me purchase the one we want for him. I've called 5 different places and checked 4 different stores....they have the cheap ones, but I don't want a cheap one...I want one that will last a couple years!
Now, I'm heading to bed...been a long day! DJ was up a half hour ago to pee and he's just such a cuddly boy when he's half asleep!! And FUNNY too!!! We had a good time giggling before I tucked him in. He was pleased I came home and wanted to chat about it. Then he told me he wanted music before I left, and that he wanted Barney...but I said that was in Sam's room. He smirked at me and said...No, it's in MY room!!! And giggled evilly!! He was right too...it was in his player! The little sneak! I turned it and he drifted right back to sleep! What a kid!!!

What day is it??
Three day weekends throw me right off!!! I kept thinking today was Sunday, no Saturday, no wait, its Monday....yeah, all messed up!
I do know, however, that today is Memorial Day. Kind of a big deal in the U.S....so in honour of men and women in service to freedom, I give you my cousin! Jeff is currently in Iraq fighting on Canada's behalf. He is my Aunt Phyllis' oldest son....husband to Allison...trainer/rider of many horses. He's the one I pray for when I put the tag line at the bottom of my posts. Thank you Jeff!! Today was plan-less...with all the rains lately we've become dependent on what its doing outside as to what we're doing anywhere. Today was no different! The rain was coming down SO hard it was like a scene from a movie where they're trying to show a downpour. We got it!! If it had been snow, we'd have been snowed in for sure! Thankfully it wasn't cold enough! BUT if you go outside, you can see your breath!
So while it was raining, Howie was carpet cleaning. With Miss B's "accidents" happening mostly downstairs, it needed a cleaning!! Plus, it didn't get done when we moved in as that was box central. He also did the stairs...which were desperate to get done!! It looks like brand new carpet now!! I love it!! There's still some spot cleaning to do upstairs thanks to Miss B and her puke/poop spots. grrrrr Just tonite I asked her if she needed to go...I'm sitting at the computer...I get up and walk around the corner and she's already peed AND pooped on the carpet!!! UGH!!! Gotta love picking up warm poop!! I tied a bell on the front door for her to nose to let me know when she needs to go out, but with the carpets getting done, today wasn't a good day to try that. We had gates up so the kids couldn't go downstairs....well, neither could she to ring the bell. Here's hoping tomorrow the lesson sticks! I'm good with bell sounds!
While Howie was off taking Jake home, DJ was outside playing (finally the rain let up a bit, and even gave way to sunshine!!!!) and SamSam was still snoozing I did a workout on tv. This time I did one that the Biggest Loser contestants did...and there was a modified version too! I did that one for the most part. It wasn't too bad! Got me huffin and puffin again...which is good! The lung is a muscle I need to train too! Just as I was finishing up my mom called, so I had a good half hour chat with her! Sooooon she'll be here again! July can't come quick enough!!
Once the kids were in bed it was discovered there was nothing on tv...so Howie went to bed too! Well, there wasn't anything on for HIM to watch!! I had the Bachelorette to watch! I love having DVR...I skip all the precursor stuff and commercials....less time! I will say she's picked off the ones I'd want picked off!! lol
Then I watched a Lost episode....getting more and more lost by each show! And judging from everyone's reactions last week at the series finale, it won't really be explained. Once I got done I decided to do another work out....this time I chose Last Chance Workout with Jillian. This one wasn't nearly as bad/painful as the one I did Friday....this was tolerable...of course, I'll let ya know tomorrow if that's still the case. I can feel this one in my arms more than anything.
Now, I'm ready for bed! Whew!!! Back to reality tomorrow....waking up early. I tell ya, I've been spoiled the past 4 days getting to sleep in. And Howie confessed today that the main reason he hasn't been going fishing is because he feels guilty if he doesn't take DJ now...and the weather hasn't been co-operative for an almost 4 year old to join the fun. Soon tho....
